what is the best hitch cord in your opinion?

I always try new stuff but come back to a regular yacht type double-braid, usually sta-set. If you go easy on it for a bit, let it nap up a little, it's surprisingly heat/wear resistant. Although that might be more to do with having wet ropes half the time.

10 mm beeline works well for me. I'm real easy on my rope and hitch cord. It's the roundness of beeline that has kept me coming back.

I'm with you Gord. I try em all but I keep going back to sta-set. It doesn't last the longest for me but its cheap and I haven't found any thing else that runs as nice or feels as supple. Chances are I think I'd like 3/8 bee line but haven't tried it yet. I dislike any double braid that is spliced for the extra stiffness it adds.

Beleive it or not the best cord I have used for a VT is 7 mm accseory cord from Eastern Mountain Sports. It is not the strongest, but back when we first started climbing with VT it was all we had available and we thought it was the cat's meow.

I just started using OP with a grizzly splice and like it a lot. With my size, I put a lot on a hitch and OP seems to be handling it well so far.

Great stuff other than a pain to splice so I just tie knots.

Ha funny you say that but I am currently in the beginning process of trying to understand how to splice 10mm op. If you could send me a PM of some pointers or ideas how to splice it. It would greatly be appreciated.

i try all kinda of different combos, but by far the best hitch cord is make in new Zealand by a company called Donaghy. the 8 or 10 mm armour pruss is the best thing iv found with any combo of rope. only if i had more of it

I likes me the 8mm ocean p first and 10mm ocean p second. But Im goinna revisit the 10 mm ocean p real soon.I use thats stuff(8mm ocean P) for a footlocking prussik as well.No I in team but there is in mines.Totally dude.
