what is the best hitch cord in your opinion?

Thanks for the heads up Blinky

I got the small splice rather than the loop. (whatever its called?)

How much life do you get out of the tenex? I only climb 1-2 days a week so I think my gear lasts longer than most climbers.

Seems like the beeline has been lasting me 1 year and then I put red tape on it and retire it for rigging mechanical advantage and stuff.

That should last you a few months if you don't rip out of a tree on it. Rotate it so a different side grips the rope when you re-tie it and it will last longer.

I go from climbing 5 days a week to no days a week and back to 5. In the Summer it's almost every weekday, sometimes off the ground all day long... it sucks when it's hot with no wind but it beats shagging rounds.

In my perfect world I'd climb every other day year round. Fat chance of that.

although it may be rated under 5400 lbs, each leg is only supporting 1/4 of your weight if you are climbing DdRT, with an E2E hitch configuration. Maybe I'm just careless, but I wouldn't mind using a hitchcord rated slightly under 5400 lbs.

just tried my new poison hyV rope hand spliced, with beeline hand splice, and hitch climber pulley. DAMN FINE!!!

5 years ago I was humping up trees with a blakes, what a difference the gear makes things so much easier.
