Cmc Truck Upfits

I finally got a quote for a truck upfit from cmc so the lift could ride on a truck. A little more than $30k for a narrow flatbed seems pretty excessive, especially when a gangster flatbed new and installed is $10-12k.

Folks who have been around the upfit, is there anything real special about it? Anyone willing to share photos and info on their build? We'll probably just build one or have one built outside of cmc.

We purchased our truck uplifted from CMC

$30k sounds like straight up rape to me. It’s not like it’s rocket surgery it’s just a flatbed on a cab chassis with tie downs. I would think $4k in materials at best and two weeks welding in your driveway. Don’t forget the welding blankets to protect your glass and paint.

I can’t remember how much with boxes but maybe 11k maybe I blocked it out after lol but I remember I payed about 3x of what I could have had someone local do.
But I was in a hurry right

They’re probably outsourcing it and at least doubling their cost.

The hitch, cone holders, and mat holder was all added by my local fab shop

Yeah that doesn't look like $30k worth to me at all. Could buy a whole other truck for that.

That hitch setup is cool. Was that a before or after thought? It's got to help with backing.

Dang, that’s nuts, hardly much of a flatbed for the price.
I get the function and it looks sharp but holy hell it’s not much to make that.
