what hitch do you ride?

I normally run a VT on Oc with tachyon buti have been having troubles with it grabbing ill have my weight set into it and it. Will slowly slide. I have been using a 4 wrap 2 braid or a 3wrap 3 braid and they both slide. I've also been trying the knut and that's done okay for me but I really like the vt or xt. It works fine when I switch over to bee line just not when I'm running OP and its a brand new cord. Any Thought on why it wount hold?

at work its always a vt 4 wraps 3 braids on a 8 mm bee line, but when rec climbing and comps i rock the armor prussic, armor works well with any rope and its always smooth so far, but the problem is you can only get it in new zealand.

I've seen alot of raves about the hitch climber pulley but in trying a similar setup with a double eye micropulley I found the second carabiner wouldn't allow my hitch to set properly.
Is this an issue with anyone else?

I can imagine it but if you attach a photo of your configuration you'll have a better chance getting some suggestions to correct the problem.

With a Hitchclimber it's usually the knot above the carabiner that prevents the hitch from setting. A spliced eye instead of a knot termination on the carabiner is the most straightforward solution. That may apply to your micromouse pulley as well.

I've got a 8mm bee line VT with a DMM hitch climber on True Blue, have yet to try it on XTC. I'm in the market for a new line, looking at maybe Poison Ivy or something small and strong. I've got most of a spool of Arbor Plex, but think that'll be for the rigging.

What I really need is to learn how to splice. I'm finally starting to learn how easy splices make things, i.e., Freestyler's rig, I have basically the same setup (dif rope and hitch line) but with two biners instead of the much cleaner single....looks nice. I am such a gear/toy junky, but trying to keep it simple.

Having all the nice gear is nice but pricey, I have guns to buy!

8mm beeline on true blue must be one hell of a strong bite!
I used to use true blue alot, but usually with tenex or a 16 strand Blake's.

I've just gone back to a distel after a long time using a VT or Knut. I only tried a Distel briefly a long time ago and found it bit too hard and locked up on me, really hard to break. Now with a 8mm beeline on Lava and a hitchclimber everything is moving really nicely.

Brand new present to myself last month - 24 in. HRC tied as a VT (3 or 4 wraps and 2 braids) with micro-pulley on 11mm Tachyon. Seems a popular combo here.
Was using the Distel for a few years but I find it binds sometimes and gets hard to advance. The VT which I just switched to never binds and advances just by giving it a hard stare (well almost). But I do have to remember to make sure it's set as it loosens easily. Same as what most of you have said.
I still have the Distel with a beeline on my short rope.
And the Blake's which I started on, I still sometimes tie so I don't forget how since it's one that you can always use with just a climbing line, if that's all you have.

I hear ya on the blakes...it was dark here the other morning and I grabbed my long rope bag rather than my shorty which has my system tied in, ready to go. Had to use a blake's...was a blast from the past!

I've tried 'em all and found that the VT best suited my needs. I use a 4 wrap 4 braid VT with 8mm bailout for cordage, double fisherman's loops..spliced eye 11mm tachyon line, hitchclimber. I just recently bought a spliced 8mm HRC line for my next cordage and am looking forward to giving it a go.

Distel with 8mil beeline i2i, hitchclimber, xtc spearmint with spliced eye. Loving it!! It's so smooth, I get psyched climbing on my current setup

PS - You can adjust the amount of wraps both above and below the 'pass-through' part of the hitch, and it's still a Michoacán.

Michoacán is a place in Mexico, home of 'La Flor de Michoacán,' a chain of ice cream stores that make a bad-azz 'licuada,' which is an iced juice drink. FYI.
