Leaf: 3 to 6" opposite, green trifoliate leaves; silvery underside; bright red and orange fall color; one of the last maples to develop fall color; leaves persist into winter

That was pretty easy, except for you not answering if we were right or wrong. Paperbarks are quite rare trees in Ontario. Even in warmer climes such as Toronto south to Windsor they do not seem to do much. Most landscape trees are brought in from the west coast and decide to halt further good growth when the winters here hit -23 Celcius.
 
OK This was fun to watch.
