Trees from a distance

Gosh it's so simple, look at the branch tips. (that's been pretty funny ez.)

so birch or hazelnut or...

I'd go with black birch too.

but to be different, I guess....

hmmm, no birch with that bark that i can think of,

then how about:

Carpinus caroliniana

that would be a smart ornamental tree, but probably no one plants it.

Oh dang it dang it DANG IT.

I just looked up Ostrya virginiana and that was what I meant to say. I always got those two mixed up, even in college!

I knew it wasn't muscle wood, the bark was not like that at all, the bark was easily iron wood, Ostrya virginiana. I just wrote the latin name for what i didn't mean. Shoot shoot shoot. I should have just said iron wood. rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrhhh.
