TNT & Tom - okay, okay so it was kind of obvious.
However, what is the genus/species (hint: there's only one) this cell tower is suppose to be representing? It's not Picea.
And, actually, even though I'm sure the phone company didn't plan on having the tree's needles bleach-out in the sunlight like it did, there is a variety in this pseudo-tree's real life that does have blue foliage.
Usually the cell tower is of a genus/species popular to that particular area (i.e. palm trees for Florida, etc.) so this photo was taken on the West coast in a northern coastal area ..........(drum roll)........
That's right TNT!!
Thank you!! I was beginning to wonder...
I have to jog everyone's memory from time to time about the trees on the western side of this continent.
Also, not too many people know this but there are 25 varieties of coastal redwoods and some do have blue foliage. I purchased one called 'Blue Eyes' and planted it near a 180ft redwood because I thought the contrast would look cool. However, the little 'Blue Eyes' lost its blue-color in the shade of the bigger tree. So I'm moving it back into the full sunlight
Alright...here's a real easy tree....but a terrible picture. It was right at daybreak.
So let's see how good you are with trees from a distance...in the dark.
The pic must be worse than I thought. When i look at it here at home I can barely even see the tree. This monitor sucks eggs.
If this turns out to be a problem I will retake and repost the pic tommorrow. Of course the tree is beginning to leaf out now so it will be easier to tell.
These trees are normally a little more excurrent in their habit. At least from my experience with them.
They do however tend to put up multiple leaders so maybe I'm wrong on that point.
