dang i was hoping he was wrong with his confidence.

no wonder it was easy, easypholem, these trees are in your area.

still wished you were wrong though

Well I'm happy my confidence was well placed, it is a common tree here and where JZ currently resides.

I don't have a tree to post however, so it is up for grabs, and I think MoTreebeard is still up from a couple of times ago.

Wow, that was a guess on my part. Just saw some crap hung up in that tree, figured it might be Goldenrain.

Anyone like those trees? I think they are too messy, and sometimes they seem prone to stem cankers.

I don't have any photos to post up, I am lame.

I like them. A good street tree for under and around utility lines. We use a few here and there in Providence; we're planting 10 this Spring. We try to keep our species as diverse as possible, we are planting 29 different species this Spring alone.

I'm thinking they are going to be an invasive tree.

they seem to grow fast and put out too much fertile seed.

(I did plant one at my mom and dads house four years ago becuase i thought they were neat at first)

I bet these will be a run away specie in years to come.

Yeah. They are a neat tree but I'm with ya on that. We have several on campus, and I find volunteers everywhere. Just too much viable seed.

no not Acer truncatum, but your right with it being opposite arrangement.

now, how about a close up clear picture of the twigs for ya.

wow!

is European Ash and Golden Ash the same thing?

I didn't know this tree at all. I would not have known what kind of ash it was without this:

Golden Ash 'Jaspidea' is a clone of the common Ash.
The 'Aurea' is a cultivar but it isn't very hardy so you don't see it often.
Golden Ash has the yellow twig-coloring that's what gave it away!

I have mis-guessed (is there such a word?) plenty!
