Trees from a distance

Dogwood? I see the opposite buds and red twigs... Still looks like Red Maple... The way the sucker is growing looks a little like Japanese maple, but the older bark does not. So is it a dogwood or a Japanese Maple? Or a little of both?

What an awesome elm that would be (would have been) if you're right... I've never seen a multi-stemmed specimen that old. BTW, X, did you have that cinched together up top, to prevent the accidental separation of one of the parts?

no, i didn't have to pull that one together to keep from spliting, it was quite solid as one, down below.

can't see in that picture, but our k-boom is attached to it with straps.

Even when I get it right I miss out! Waaah! LOL! What was the reason for removal on that one? Looks like it was pretty sound, lots of open space. That's going by two pictures of the butt LOL.

here's an elm that size.

that's an adult girl standing next to it.

i saw it in Frederick Maryland I think. so i stoped and took some pictures.
