Treehumper down and getting back up.

we don't bounce like we used to humper... hope your body heals and you can somehow turn this around and make something good come of it..
I do recommend Vit K, Vit D cal-mag and homeopathic symphytum.. also there are rife type generators that can be used to speed healing, running electrical frequencies through the affected area. That's how TO was able to come back so fast and play in the superbowl for the eagles..

Well it could do it without so much fanfare.

My former father-in-law was a big proponent of magnets for healing. had a bunch made up for my foot when I broke that many decades ago.

Good things always come with learning opportunities, Daniel.

I just read your story, hope you get well soon and thanks for reminding us all about the risks. I was doing a bounce check a couple of weeks ago when accessing a tall redwood, a 4"-5" section of deadwood came crashing out of the tree. It is always a judgment call. Base anchor with back up below, even that can lead to a serious fall and injury.
Get well soon, hope to meet you one day.

I always like to hang two or three people off the access line if there is ANY question.. and we've broken out a few limbs over the years...
The only thing that worries me about that Daniel is what if the 3 guys put stress fractures in the limb, you deem it safe to climb, and the continued shock causes it to give way. I like the idea of using multiple crotches for back up.

The main thing I take away from this; if it can happen to treehumper it can happen to any of us.

If I could get the cat scan to post I would, it shows the damage much more clearly. What many don't realize is the toll this takes on the body. the decline in physical capability, the need to rebuild, the long term consequence, i.e., arthritis, the anxiety of those that love and care about you, the toll on the business that relies on you.

My mother is distraught over this. She's into her 80's and she lives 500 miles away so she can't just come down and visit. My wife is now left with the worry of making sure we can meet all the bills and then organizing the house to accommodate me. The kids are having to set aside time from their pursuits to help get things done that I otherwise would be doing. Not that this is a bad thing but it's a sea change in behaviors and roles. Even the cats are taking a hit! I've had to turn down 2 cat rescues since landing in the hospital! Ripples in the pond, extending outward and then reflecting back to cause chaos. I'm pondering how we're going to manage doing the groceries, getting around to appts, doing the minor repairs around the house that I was planning.

Take all that and consider the time cost, the loss of efficiency and productivity in one's personal life never mind the professional time loss and its far outweighs whatever gains were perceived at the moment. When we assess risk vs. reward just be sure that calculation takes in all the factors. If they don't, to be sure, you will be held to account for them.

We will find the silver lining in all this but, there are easier ways to do it.....

My surgery was chosen. I am amazed how much I have lost since Jan 1. Cash flow is at 30% of last yr my muscle atrophy is unbelievable and I am sure my Psoriatic arthritis is really enjoying its new digs ie: the two new discs and plate in my neck. In the end I am glad I had it done and I am certain my comfort level will be much better over the yrs.
Do as your doc says and add as much massage and good company as possible. It sounds like your kids may be your saving grace. Good luck!

Stress and worry are wasted energy. Easy to say, hard to live by. I hear the fish are biting.
Yes, I'm not a stresser or a worrier. My mom on the other hand.... LOL..

It's the observations of the ripple effect. I'm trying to put it all out there so others don't lose sight of the ramifications of the little decisions we make. Risk management, cause and effect. Too often the focus is purely on the individual and what happens to them. Even there, we'll hear about someone getting banged up, they'll drop off the radar for a bit then we'll hear about how well they've recovered, etc.... What's going on in the meantime is what I was speaking of. It's not just them, its everyone connected to them, that rely on them in one form or another. If we think about that when doing our jobs then maybe we'll pause and take that extra minute or 10 to do things with that extra degree of safety.

I'm not going to say, woulda, coulda or shoulda, however, I do need to say what I will do in the future.

Bob's better 2/3's but I obviously have the looks. lol

Get a vitamix makes getting healthy a little easier. $400. but it's worth it.
