Treehumper down and getting back up.

Ok, so, just got off the phone with the WC insurance carrier who informed me that the state has a cap on how much they are allowed to pay out for WC. That amount works out to 37.6% of my weekly earnings not 70% which is what we believed would be paid out. Doing the math, it works out to losing 3.75 mths pay over the next 6 mths, presuming I return to work by then.

The stone drops into the pond and we watch the ripples spread out.....

I'm sure you know this treehumper but you have to fight tooth and nail with insurance companies. They will always try to find the easiest way out for themselves, and usually succeed, because people just say, "OK..." FWIW, do your homework.

And get a good attorney. We had to fight my wife's employer for over a year for them to cover her carpal tunnel surgeries. BTW, the hand IS coming along. Lost the splint last week and the button today. Now to get full grip and strength back.

Just want to say quick for now, Rob is out of surgery and feeling it. Didn't want me to stop by even though I wanted to see the ole boy and try to help him forget his pain. Didn't sound like the Rob I know at all. Which was rather interesting but not funny. The guy is really dosing out on the pain killers but still in a lot of pain. Please send him some kind words. It's all up hill from here, Rob. Can't wait to see you at home.

Yeah the anestesia is a friggin trip. It took me more than a day to recover from being under for 2 1/2 hrs. If he on the button for pain, then he'll be tweaked for some time. I was very happy when they got me on the pills as opposed to the button. Give him a day and he will be totally different.
Glad your out of that mess Rob. Now the true healing can begin.

You must not be charming the nurses enough to get the good stuff. Won't be long now till your out and on your feet to recovery. The summer is just going to hot and humid anyway.

No sleep. Excruciating pain all night. Turns out that this is the worst break for pain in the healing process. Oh fc@k'g joy.
I know it does not make your pain go away but it is great to see so many views and replies to your story. Just goes to show what a great guy you are and how many people really care about you. It's all going to just be something you remember and talk about very very soon. Hang in there.

As long as it's something talked about over a dram of dalwhinnie and not the dr desk!

Finally split open the cast to get some temporary relief. Pain meds still not great but has cut the edge of a bit. Switching to dilaudid caps hope it works

Ick. Go for the oxycodone. It is much longer lasting and works better. The dilaudid did nothing for me but make me sleep. Every time I awoke the pain was hell.
You don't have a fat ugly nurse, do you?
