Treehumper down and getting back up.

Sorry tohear of your injury brother, now we can both track costs of injuries, although yours sounds to be a bit more than mine. At least i can walk unaided and it really hasn't affected my main job. Just remember, at 53 you are at the beginning of the time where healing slows down. Be well my friend.

No worries with the tv nothing on there but news, sports, and reality show channels. Started reading Sebastian Junger's Fire last night. He captures the nature of our work nicely in the introduction.

Sorry to hear about that! Heal quick! We've been climbing a lot of nasty willow and elms in Toronto from the ice storm the last 4 months and TIP's are sketchy at best on most of the damaged crowns, sometimes even the larger branches you get that feeling of is this gonna hold me? Either get the hangers with the pole saw or make the cut where practical or safe. Let us know how the healing process goes.

Great minds think alike. I suggested that but the dr just threatened to amputate if I came up with any more gran ideas.

I'm going crazy with this idiot box. Nothing but news and sports and news about sports. Reality shows reins of retro shows. Medical shows, shopping channels and a show where I get to watch a guy talk on the radio about, what else, sports...

See if you can find True Detective full season on DVD. That'd keep you occupied for a bit. And at least you got the buzz to keep you company :)

Seen it. But it may be worth watching again. I'm going to get my daughter's Netflix acct. that should help. It's off to the rehab ctr this afternoon. A change of scenery while the swelling goes down

Because i was using SRT to access the tree my injury was limited to my foot. I was in a standing position instead of supine as I would've been if I were using ddrt or even footlocking.

Sorry to hear about this humper...i messed my left one about a decade ago.."unusual break" i was told...my ankle bent outward and snapped, spraining the ankle and knee with it...was back running the crane 2 weeks later with a little helpful boost to get me up there but couldn't drive it...couldve been much worse in your case...could've snapped when you were 80 feet up...best of luck with the recovery...DO THE PT! I didn't and till this day have a serious problem wearing gaffs. Btw...that is some serious looking $ for that foot hardware...just saying. Keep us informed.

Sorry TH. This is the problem with our business... even when smart, trained, professional guys do everything right, sometimes they still end up hurt. Sucks.

Also gives me pause about adopting SRT more into my routine. I'm using the wrench here and there, but the whole doubling your weight on the TIP with a basal tie worries me sometimes. Although, if there was a hidden defect in the limb it probably didn't matter. Heal up and try to avoid daytime tv. It destroys mental acuity!

Oh, to clarify- I'm all about Netflix! When I said daytime tv I meant the Divorce Court, Jerry Springer kind. That'll kill your soul. But I just finished Dexter on Netflix. All eight seasons and something like 90 episodes. I'm so ashamed!
