Top 3 Broken rules?

Yea second set of gear readily available is barely known by most. All these things are industry problems. We started seemingly with no rules but people got really "fast". Then these rules progressed and slowly there getting enforced. But companies and the consumer still expect the same price at the same speed. So we re half trying to be safe, the most stressed aspect of our job, but we're still expected and judged mostly by our production... I wrote that like crap but if you follow it makes a ton of sense

I brought up the second climber scenario to a safety trainer and was told it would shut down the industry and that it is not stated in the Z's.

What do ya'll think of this and or where might i find it in the Z's. Truthfully I've started looking but to no avail.

8.1.2: a 2nd arborist, arborist trainee, or other worker trained in emergency procedures shall be within visual or voice communications during arboriculture operations above 12 ft...

Its a vague and soft rule, easily gotten around - too easily.

I personally was referring to a second climber. When my boss is there he's a climber but when he isn't and I'd have to count on my groundies for a rescue and at that point I may as well just cut my rope and see how it plays out.

What they want you to think ......
1- don't ever one hand a saw , I mean ever . You might actually be productive and get a silly job done on time . I know , you 'll cut your face off and arms and legs , I've been sooo lucky last 35 plus years one handing , I would hate to share that luck. A hundred plastic surgeons followed me around for thirty years and they all filed bankruptcy . Wait "insurance " companies say that ...? FK them , they one hand their policies .
2- Never drop start a saw , it might start . terrible habit , if you do this , you will cut your arm and leg off and surely die .
3-if you don't wear chaps , you will die , a bloody mess all over someone's property . funeral will be expensive and the beef and beer will suck.

1- Don't work for an As*hole
2-Don't get paid like an As*hole
3- Be a better As*hole than the guy lowering for you
