Top 3 Broken rules?

I have to agree with Royce. At our place (not tree work), the only safety related incentive we have is based on the company as a whole. Every 100 days without an injury of any kind gets all 80+ of us free catered lunch. You do not want to be the guy screwing 79 others out of free food, lol.
We also have a company one, given at the end of the year. At my company we use a sort of self policing enforcement tactic that isn't really written anywhere but we re motivated to self check co workers . I'm looking for a fun way with a competition component to proactively correct rule breaking on site

Lets see here:
Working solo (very frequently),
one handing,
cutting above my shoulders
free climbing (very small trees and hedges under 15')
One point of attachment (rarely)
Almost never run a saw with out a hard hat or saw pants/chaps

Yea I hate when I waste time trying to maneuver with a handsaw or anything in my hand for that matter just to end up where I started.

All good... Does anybody here use or get an incentive program for saftey?

My company does safety incentive bonuses each quarter for zero safety violations or incidents. But, that's generally for broken/damaged property and/or no accidents. One handing, chocked wheels, no chaps is only enforced by the foreman (if it is) or if the big boss comes out.

My top 3 are cutting without chaps on the ground (just routine stuff I mean), one handing and taking off my eyepro when it's humid out. I need to just bite the bullet and buy a nice helmet with a visor.

Up here they won't let you use the built-ins. I only started using eye pro a lot when I worked for the big Green company and I definitely stopped getting up in the morning with a line of fine sawdust coming out of each eye. When it is pouring rain or snow and slashing for miles there is no way you can see out of safety glasses though.

Eyepro? I wear glasses. I wish I could wear goggles. I would. Forever.

I think I wore a pair of chaps once. Maybe twice. Gotta get some saw pants.

Safety glasses, saw protection on the ground, and I one hand basically every day.

The next in line is probably "having a clear understanding of what work is to be performed before starting" Someone said something along those lines is in there specifically. Many days I wish that the bossman was there to tell me what the hell he sold exactly.

My wife gives me awesome safety incentives!

For me it's the occasional one-handed saw use, climbing without a second climber, and I wear a climbing harness in a bucket (fall restraint vs. fall arrest)

For most small companies around here it's the pre-job briefing, work zone protection, PPE in general, just for starters. Most have never heard of the Z.

I brought up the second climber scenario to a safety trainer and was told it would shut down the industry and that it is not stated in the Z's.

What do ya'll think of this and or where might i find it in the Z's. Truthfully I've started looking but to no avail.

Can't speak to the Z's as they are not in force here but WorksafeBC requires a written climber rescue plan on your written pre-job tailboard and if the rescue requires another climber, a trained climber and a second set of gear must be available on site. People are not going to talk about it but that is broken all day long.
