Today....

Sometimes something small happening prevents something large happening in the future. Increased vigilance.

Yesterday, I got banged on the helmet/ visor by something falling from dead ivy up a doug-fir trunk. Might have been a little hanger from setting a line. Stuff happens.

I'm a fan of visors/ mesh screens.

You probably do it all the time. Basically a slang name for double whipping or span rigging they are different terms with similarity a blend of the two if you will.. you can speed line from it, lift a piece on other side if you need and flop a top over into it ….. it’s belly rigging lol
Anchoring the standing end of the line & working from “belly”anywhere in between the end and the redirects you set on the moving side down to the ground or easily controlled in the tree if you rig it how it is best for that position You can then pull the belly between any of the redirects you’ve set up choosing the fiction based on adding or subtracting friction by the standing side or moving side of the belly you’ve created. This sort of shows a it but knot really
I always called it span rigging, and used to do it just about daily. My love for the system is how you can use one rope to make a wide span and get pieces to land in distant LZs.

My favorite scenario is when a removal tree stands between two big save trees. Using it for tops and sides is clean, but plucking trunk wood up and away is the bees knees!
