Today....

@rico what was that cut with?

Auger drills. Here's the story-

If it weren't for the extremely brittle nature of the Sequoia's they would have been driven to extinction very quickly. Thank the gawds that we couldn't figure out how to get them on the ground without blowin' them up...

It’s like visiting an old friend. I love this tree. It was windy up there today! Figure I’d share it. Just a little Jersey chestnut oak ;)

Feels good to help keep those trees vs only removals!
I’ve built my business on repeat assets like this tree haha! There is So much to be said for that love of trees and nature being so important as an arborist! I see some people try and be in this Business and you can see they don’t have that love , they look at trees like meat to be butchered.
I get so excited when I get to do this type of work vs the sort of heavy feeling when taking down a good tree for a pool or there’s too many leaves in my yard type shit.
On the other hand when a client calls with that tree you’ve worked on since back in the day it just feels like everything is right in the world!

We've been going through a cold-snap all week, so I've stayed home to avoid the icy and dangerous roads/hills. And they REALLY are treacherous. Instead of tree work, I've been catching up on admin, chain sharpening, late-season wood splitting and dump-truck doughnuts.

Don't tell my landlord.
