Today....

A high redirect for the bottom end can aid speedlining (e.g. block or rigging ring at 10'-20' up on the bottom side, down to a POW or redirect, if needed).
Yea, I only got it up as high as I could reach, but will definitely take the time to get it higher next time if the bottom anchor permits.

I've only used a speedline or a controlled speedline a couple times since I got my 5" electric saw. Now cutting and tossing is my first choice. It's interesting how my method of working evolved as I gained experience and tried new things, but I'll probably always take my trusty folding razor saw with me.

I got a new tool/toy to help me shuffle multiple trucks around solo, or in this case drop one off at the shop for a few days and get myself home. It's the EMOVE Roadrunner V2 scooter, does ~32+mph on flat ground, 20-50 mile range depending on power mode and weights ~60 pounds, so I can pick it up and toss it in the back of any of my trucks easily. I just dropped my secondary chip-truck off at the shop, rode the scooter 9 miles across that island, got on the ferry to my home island and rode another 3 miles to my house. Until I decide to get an employee again (early spring hopefully), I'll probably use it to get my chip truck and service truck to close-ish job sites by myself as well.

I do have a more powerful gas 'mini-motorcycle' I can use, but it's big and heavy enough it requires a motorcycle receiver-hitch-carrier to move around, and I don't want to bother getting a real motorcycle because that also requires the hitch carrier and getting a motorcycle license. Since I can easily get away with silly things like this in my rural area, the electric scooter is a perfect and convenient solution.

Today I crossed a milestone in my life that’s been 25 years in the making. Life just kept getting in the way, but I finally finished a CDL course, passed my road test and attained my Class A/Combination/Airbrake. Having held my health card for 25 years and retested for my commercial learner’s permit 4 times due to it lapsing, this is almost surreal. The last road test I took was back in high school for my first driver’s license, but I think I was more nerved up for today’s road test. It may not sound like a big deal, but it is for me because of how long it’s been a goal in life. Circumstances just kept me from ever testing in the past.

Now all I have to do is rethink my life and entire quiver of trucks, sell them all and start over without worry of restriction! Wait…maybe this wasn’t such a good idea after all.

Nah. It was worth it!!!
