FWIW, the goods will take a 5/8 rope. I've used 5/8 a few times.

I believe it is stated that the goods will accommodate up to 3/4. I have not tried that yet.
 
I have a Borntrager, it’s the 53 ton or 63? Great jack. And they are great people, we had an incident where the jack decided to turn into a bowling ball and rolled down the very steep hill and then crashed into a tree bending the pump assembly and knocking the pad off. We had packed in over a mile to jack a big fir tree and I had no intention of quitting so I hammered the pump assembly into a workable shape but couldn’t get the pad back on top. Had phone service and called Mr. Borntrager and he walked me through it and then he stuck a new pump assembly in the mail and told me I could send him the money later. We got the tree down without having to pack back in later and much happiness was had.
 
Finally got a chance to play with my super-cheap-new-to-me bucket truck, just doing a small removal and dead-wooding of the trees over my parking area at home. So far so good, has continued to drive well and the bucket seems to run great. Honestly I'm pretty amazed at what it can do and the new opportunities it will open up in terms of work.

Thanks, it's defiantly going to be a learning experience. I haven't been around buckets in well over a decade, when I first started doing tree work in Seattle and that of course was a VERY different situation. Getting the hang of what I can reach, where I can fit the thing and especially understanding the space I'll need to maneuver will take some getting used to. I fully expect to bring it on some jobs, only to find out I can't actually get down the driveway, or can't reach what I was hoping to work on, haha.

Getting down a driveway isn't as much trouble as getting up the driveway.

My buddy came to the realization that he should get a laser rangefinder so that he could bid jobs more accurately. Has basically this same truck, but with the elevator.
