Today....

A beautiful stump, and new 500i, and a badass chip truck!...I'd call that a good day.

I certainly agree with your assessment the AV mounts are a bit floppy when at the stump (I think I recall you saying that?). I'm only ever going to run a 28" on it which reduces that a bit as opposed to longer bars (my 661 is for anything bigger) and it's a complaint I've heard a number of other fallers make. I'm wondering if someone will make some stiffer aftermarket springs to address that issue.

Ah, so they do. Thanks for the heads up: https://westcoastsaw.com/products/fallers-suspension-kit

I did go back and forth for a good while if I should buy a stock one or buy one from a saw builder. Then the other day I got a call form the local shop. They finally had one in stock with my name on it, so I just went and picked it up because it was easy to be honest. And of course with that comes with a factory warranty which I might want to hang on for a little while before I start cutting holes in it :p

I haven’t run a stock one but I have one that randy Evans ( mastermind) built and it’s a good running saw. I really like it. Just hate the floppy noodle

More toys. Today a rear-handle 540i XP with a 16" bar, two BLi200X batteries, two QC 500 chargers and 2x 14" and 2x 16" spare chains came. The top-handle T540i XP 14" and BLi300 are backordered but will be here eventually.

So far I've only made about a dozen test cuts at my shop, but it seems really great. This is my first battery tool and while I've always known electric was the future, in terms of small saws it sure seems like the future is here. Look forward to putting some hours on this saw in the coming weeks and really testing it out.

(on a side-note, it was sure great to be able to order this straight from the Baileys website, as there are no Husky dealers around me and finding these in stock has been a challenge. End the damn dealership/in-store only business model and let us buy everything online, it's 2021!!!)
