Today....

I once had my friends play a joke on me and stuffed my van full of kids toys and half eaten happy meals. I cleaned it out quite thoroughly, but for several months after, if I hit a bump just right I heard Eddy Murphy’s voice saying “holler atchya boy!” It was a toy donkey from Shrek that was hidden behind the fuse box. I was glad to find that one!
That’s better than chicken nuggets lol

One time at the fire station......We had a delegation of Chiefs (management) from a not local department use our parking lot to park their van. I think they were there for some management mumbo jumbo. Anyway it was unrelated to our department so we felt relatively isolated from any repercussions. We popped the hubcaps of each of their wheels and put 3 or 4 medium rocks behind the hubcaps and put them back on. Hopefully they stopped all 4 times but maybe one of them was smart enough to check them all after the 2nd or 3rd stop. Hard to say since there is some common sense loss when going from a blue shirt to a white shirt in that line of work. I was pretty new at the time and the other guys were vets known to play a lot of games. I just appreciated them not making me the brunt of it for a little while. Somebody would probably get fired for that now. Plus no hubcaps.

Clearance for days!
I’ve had a few of those home insurance threats type jobs lately too. It’s crazy
I tell everyone that if they really wanna save the tree, they may have some luck hiring someone with a TRAQ to come and assess the situation. I feel like a certified expert decalring the tree to be safe enough, especially with an EWR, would be hard for an underqualified insurance agent to argue with. Anybody know if my idea holds any water?

Challenging Ash for me, that already lost the other codominant. Stuff on all sides with smaller than I like drop zone. I don’t like the way that Ash pops but, done now. One of those learning jobs where you tell yourself, I’ll do it differently next time. I actually had first time helper but, up/down 4 times. Next time climb higher, cut smaller tops, show helper before climbing, 2nd system.

Bought a bunch of new goodies recently and wanted to give the Notch Swinger a go after running the TransPorter for years. Haven't used it yet. I also decided to spent more time on wrenches and got the ISC Apex and caralink 2.0. Need to play with a few other hitch cord setups. I actually kind of like the little Arbsession hutch-nut thing.

Also, the fine-print on the ISC Apex wrench is out of control, never seen text this small in my life. Carabiner for scale :p

I think I'm going to like it. The TransPorter is great for stowing the saw, but more work to remove it since you have to push the gate in to the the saw back out. The dual-swing gate on the Swinger 'solves' that and will be easier to remove one-handed as a result.

(yes, I know the shembiner 'solves' that by just being an open hook, but it doesn't have a screwed down plate that pinches the webbing to keep it from twisting)

The new shembiner does, but I like that the swinger can lock, and even be locked in either direction alone. Useful for the way I like to climb around.
