How often do you come across someone who reaches out for an estimate via contact form or leaves you a voicemail, etc. You respond quickly (within an hour), but are never able to reach them or they just don’t respond?

I had one not long ago, they left a voicemail (I wasn’t able to answer), but very shortly afterward I sent them a text saying who I was, and offered them an appointment for an estimate. Never heard back, so I was going through old texts and stumbled on that convo, and it says they read the message the same day I sent it, which is the same day they called.

Why would you not respond? Even if just to say we no longer need an estimate.

Then last week I think it was, I had someone submit a request via contact form. I both called them and sent an email, probably within a half hour of receiving the request, and never heard back.

I just don’t get the radio silence. Like, it’s okay if you no longer need us to come out. We appreciate your communication and letting us know so we aren’t left wondering about it.

They don't want to engauge and have to explain themselves.

Perfectly understandable and their right.

Don't let it bother you. It's not like you can force feed them a sales pitch.

Just feel lucky they nibbled at your bait.

SOME...

People are impulsive.

People panic.

People speak to someone while waiting 10 minutes for a call back and are happy someone is coming that day and can handle it what day.

People find someone who looks cheaper.

People 'click' worth someone else over the owner and estimators' dogs playing at the bid.

People are forgetful.

People find someone from their church/ social club/ social circle.

Pay no mind.
