Today....

I get it with the MB. IDK, I remember a guy on here you could talk to and shoot the shit. He made cool videos and did cool stuff. He was relatable. Then the fame and stardom hit. The entourage developed. They could be walking around with a bunch of groupies and couldn't be bothered to speak to common folk who they used to chat with on a tree forum all the time. I figure enough people kiss enough ass and buy enough saddles that my purchase makes no difference. I totally get the rise to fame but can't relate to forgetting who you are and where you came from. Look at me. I'm famous AF and still chat with all you commoners. I don't boycott like I do Weaver. I just choose, based on my experience on a personal level, not to bother looking at the product. I love to support the little guy but when the little guy becomes big and then acts somebody different then I just go my merry way. I'm glad ya'll love your harnesses. Maybe someday I'll try one on and feel foolish for not considering it. For now I'll just listen to what you're saying and take it under advisement. As often happens, I could be totally off base here anyway. Thanks for sharing your experiences.
You and I are one in the same. I boycotted Weaver as soon as I heard you speak of it. I always route for the lil guy....and sometimes the underdog. I hear ya about August. I used to watch a lot of his vids. Well before he started selling gear. I subscribed and get notifications still for new content. I only watch what may have special interest to me now. I bought the MB 1.0 and love it. Well made. I bought his small sized climbing rope bag. Holds 150' perfectly. It's a rectangular shaped bag and is great for riding the ball. It tucks close to the body for maneuvering through bushy tops. I don't know how many I've bombed it down. Still holding rope strong with no tears or popped threads. Obviously, I stated it enough, I want the 2.0 saddle. That's how great the 1.0 is for me. With sustained injuries over the past 30 some years, I'm comfortable in the tree again. Granted, I never gave the MCRS enough time to dial it in. That is a tough saddle to adjust perfectly. I did get it better and wore it for a removal 2yrs ago. I like it and won't part with it.

Back to MB.... I'm not trying to put another spotlight on August. I remember too when he was here and a regular guy. He does make great products. HIS STUFF. I haven't bought other products he carries. I am interested in his rope kegs. Good price for the quality of his products. I have so much rope I need more bags. Tired of coiling hanks. I have sooooo much rope. Some for specific tasks .....

Anyhows, I think the 2.0 would be perfect for you. I'm not just saying that. The MB is the perfect removal saddle. Especially when hanging in one spot, waiting for everything on the ground to catch up.

The Monkey Beaver is more than just a removal saddle. It does many things better than other harnesses.

To say I'm not an August fan would be an understatement, which is one of the reasons I removed the leg patches. While it might have been his brain child, the level of refinement, IMHO, came from the collaboration of others.

So very true. Not sure why New Tribe dropped it before they went out of business. I think this may be the sole reason he started making gear?

I appreciate what you guys are saying and totally respect your position. Maybe someday I'll get my hands on one. As much as I boycott Treestuff, I did get a RR-Pro. I just bought it from another human and not them. Technicality I can life with in the mirror. In true TS fashion I got the first iteration that doesn't have the lube port and falls every comp gear inspection. They have since fixed that. As for rope bags.. the keg?- never met her but I still have a buck-tube that has been through out of the tree probably hundreds if not thousands of times on crane jobs. It is bombproof. I've spiked it a bunch and its still working like a champ. IDK why they stopped making it. It'll hold 200' of a soft rope or 150' of something overly rigid like Scandere. The buck-tube was the shiznit.

I got my MB in 2018 when it was still branded as New Tribe/Monkey Beaver. My tag says it's made by New Tribe. That's what drew me to it, I had long been a fan of NT. Really bothers me how quickly the Monkey Beaver guys dropped the New Tribe acknowledgement and act like they developed the saddle on their own. New Tribe had already developed the Onyx with a rope bridge...

This site is so annoyingly hard to load a picture. I usually get disgusted after 3 or 4 try’s and quit but I’ll try one more time. And,, nope. Fuckit. How can you guys seemingly post pics at will?

If you're on mobile then it depends on your browser. I use Brave and about 6 months ago it stopped letting me upload pictures to the Buzz. Now I switch to Chrome to upload and then back to my default Brave for reading. There are also issues with larger pics, which phones all default to these days. I don't have these issues when I access from my laptop. But then you have to transfer pictures from your phone to your computer.......

@Steve Connally

Is that a RW tether with a sewn-in corner trap?
