We got to play with the 300 ton to remove 6 nasty willows. Pretty amazing what this thing can do.
Some serious capacity at distance there!

Not sure how they rate cranes, but yes it is considered a 300 ton crane. Is that really a 300 ton crane? As in 600,000 lbs. lifting capacity? Good golly!
Oh yeah! We only had 100,000lbs of counterweights, lol. Some serious capacity at distance there!
Stump grinding them sucks even more.Willows suck.
They just tend to be large, full of dirt, rocks, fencing materials. All stumps are really not that fun but it is part of what most of us do.What is it about willow stumps?
i was told by a crane op that they will set it up with a different cable and with the shortest boom set-up, closest to the crane they will lift those 300 ton. obviously not very practical for tree-work.. it‘s more like a proof-loading.Is that really a 300 ton crane? I was basically told the same by my operator who runs a 50 ton. The only way to pick 50 tons is to be right next to the truck bed and have a multiple part block rigged up. It would need 10 pulleys if I'm not mistaken as his cable strength is 10,000lbs. Maybe a stronger cable of he can upsize, to allow less cable running through blocks?i was told by a crane op that they will set it up with a different cable and with the shortest boom set-up, closest to the crane they will lift those 300 ton. obviously not very practical for tree-work.. it‘s more like a proof-loading.
