Nice work saving the bees.

NEVER kill honey bees.

owner once had to suit up after a guy got stung a few times. Went up with a hooded sweatshirt tied around face and neck, rain gear, gloves, etc. Got stung a bunch of times, ran like hell after the cut was made. Saved the bees though!

Re: Tie into tree,Tie into crane? That is the ques

bee keeper taught me all you need is a plastic bag from the super market, and some calm breathing.

what else is there? cut the tree down, put it in the chipper, go home at night. honest no tricks here ;)

Re: Tie into tree,Tie into crane? That is the ques

Wow! Still can tell who the best is. Probably because the guy who truely is the best has been sitting back in his chair and laughing the whole time.

Royce, sounds like you have a good bunch of guys to draw knowledge from. Gather that info and read the ton of articles on the crane safety. They basically all say the same thing. Safety is paramount.

In my experience, which apparently is extremely limited compared to the "GREATS" has been to almost always tie into the tree. Since the late 80's I have had only two encounters with trees that unsafe to not tie into. In those instances once I used a second crane and the other time there was a tree close enough to tie into.

Since we have people vouching for others I would like to say that the X certainly is not a bitch. He ran a very fine tuned machine like business while I was there. I can't stress it enough about how I wish things would have worked out enabling me to stay at Arbor-X. My time there gave me the desire to continue my tree career. After 20 plus years and dealing with the rag tag Monmouth county tree world I was ready to move on.

Re: Tie into tree,Tie into crane? That is the ques

Yup, I agree, X's vids do a good job of showing the world who he is. Rock On Mr. Xman!

He sure can be a cocky bastage sometimes though can't he?!

Its not about the equipment its about the fluid motions of the crew working together, without question, being so trusted in their actions and confident in themselves that it looks flawless and flows. thats what we strive for. get it doen smoothly, smooth is FAST.

What you're describing here is a thing of beauty.

Watch the trees pile up while chip truck is gone, and watch how fast they dissapear. Count the loads.

Xboy, @ 0:35, is that horizontal enough for ya? 130'!

[/ QUOTE ]

there is nothing going on at 0:35, so I honestly don't understand what you are talking about.

I watched maybe half of that video. why the heck are you using a crane wit all that open space to fell trees?

I'm catching up, reading this thread one by one.

hey, I appreciate your offer BostonBitch. It would be quite civil and I would try to be a very good guest. Let's see what I can put together, I'm already flying up there next Thursday.

oh, btw, as long as you are calling me by my wrong name I will continue to do the same for you, bostonBITCH! I will carry on this for years if I have to.

hopefully, by the time I catch up on this thread you don't get any more mouthy and push me further.

Oh yeah, and we saved roughly 500k-750k of Honeybees that day too. Beekeeper was proud of us.

[/ QUOTE ]

Oh yeah, big freakin' deal, that is what you are supposed to do. Me as the estimator sees the bees ahead of time. I do it every year. show up at the job in the dark at 5am and staple screen material over the hole.

then, during that work day, we remove the log section with the crane and keep the peice standing up in the same position; takes a LOT of straps. Take it home to my property and let the bees continue.

what about other animals and birds? Most people don't know much about wildlife, I know a good bit. Parent birds don't abandon a nest when it is disturbed. I've taken woodpecker nesting logs and moved them to other nearby locations, parents are feeding the young in 20 minutes at the new location while the chipper is still running.

Well you could always chime in with your pics and lame times. I always luv when slow MF's open their mouth and try to put it to reaal crews.

From what I'm told I find it hard to belive you have 20 years.

PLEASE JUST SHOW US ARM CHAIR CLIMBER.

Re: Tie into tree,Tie into crane? That is the ques

nO he aint,

I really do like his safty value too. Always checking even when he's in a tree across the yard.

But, we all know I'm the king.

Just can't wait to prove it to the NE boys. When I find out they don't have that southern push, I'm forcing Bull to pay for my Mass isa chapter comp and rip them down.

Re: Tie into tree,Tie into crane? That is the ques

oh geeze Hollen, he isn't a retired arm chair climber. You don't know. He's doing a big crane removal tomorrow I believe, Saturday, in the 103 degree heat. Keep off cuttenwolf or you and I will be fighting too.

Cuttenwolf is a good, very SAFE climber, very HONEST and always wanting to improve himself. I would not worry about him talking to a customer, because he would represent himself as a good smart arborist. Bob doesn't attack anyone on the buzz and therefor he doesn't take well to attacks, so back the F off bittch!

I would back you up the same way Hollen. And imagine if I spent over a year with you and you and I still get along well on the job sites. I'd back you up plenty, so that's why I'm backing cuttenwolf up. We did a lot of tree removals together and fixed and pruned a lot of trees too.

I'm hoping it's 95 to 105 degrees and humid as hell when I'm up there and do a day with them. Heat and humidity after a 12 hr day shows who are the boys and who are the men.

You know all I can say about this, is I'm the only one to put picture and detail to this call out.

And the rest say ahhhhhhhhhh.

Re: Tie into tree,Tie into crane? That is the ques

I guess I misunderstood BostonBitch, I thought he wanted us to post a current week, just an average week of what we do.

If we can post jobs from this recent year and pick the big ones, I can post them now.

Is that what you want BB?
