Tie into tree,Tie into crane? That is the question

X

same offer for you. come up and stay in my home with me and work with us for a few days. then when you bad mouth me, and our company, you can base it on facts, not stories you tell yourself.

Re: Tie into tree,Tie into crane? That is the ques

I don't know what all the fuss is about. If I wasn't restrained by the seatbelts in my Prius I would take X, Ol'dirtybastard, and Holly to school. Tree climbing school.

Bring your pole saws! That's how I roll!

Re: Tie into tree,Tie into crane? That is the ques

Enough if this BS about dollars and running picks out.

Proof is in the pudding.

Big dollar days mean the salesman did a great job.

You beating the ball to the next pick means you're a crazy hard worker.

What counts is crew size, and what you produced as a crew. heres my challenge to you, prove you're the best! Honor system only now.

Everyday for a week, list your crew size, including operator, how many yards of chips you did, how many tri axle log truck loads of logs you did (roughly a 25'-30' long bed), and what time was start time and end time for that crane crew?

Deal?

Re: Tie into tree,Tie into crane? That is the ques

Doesnt matter. I can almost guarantee that oldirty will outpace any of you, even us on some days with his 38T setup. If youre so much faster in the tree than the rest of us you're making up the time lost on us "big tonners" no more excuses.

Chipper size doesnt matter either, smaller chippers, say 15" or 18" just mean your log count will be higher than the guys with grapple chippers.

Invitations still there for you and X to come up and stay with us as well.

Im not on a crane crew right now, im doing bucket and climbing. Ill try to catch them at days end and see what they are doing for capacity.

Re: Tie into tree,Tie into crane? That is the ques

I'll start, 80" white oak, 3 man crew, intimadator 20", 26 ton Altec, at full reach, start time 8:00am, tree on ground 1:30, finsh 4:00pm, 3 loads of 25 yard chips, 3 loads of flat bed crane wood.

Don't mind the one haded saw use, if you can do it then do it, if you can't eat more stake. It's a 660 by the way Olddirty.

not to derail, but why not just climb down and cut where the crotch is? Pick seems rigged nice and stable, crane operator im sure can hold it in place? Just curious

Re: Tie into tree,Tie into crane? That is the ques

Not getting you here, you mean where I'm set? If so, I'm just one of those loopy guys likin to be on top of my cuts if I can be.

I have my 2 tie in points.

Knid of a thing I do, I want to be completely out of the way should something fail. I make sure boom will not fall at me or load.

just seems like you cdould have come down more, and cut with two hands, undercut opvercut.....or put small notch in her, let the crane stand it up all the way and cut hinge wood out. White oak is crazy strong and fiburous, so im sure it would have held?

each their own technique, just curious

Re: Tie into tree,Tie into crane? That is the ques

I asure ya it was a smooth clean single cut no twist, balanced level, and crane guy didn't even have to move the ball.

On the buzz there was a thread before about notching stuff for crane picks. I strongly agreeded with Mark C to never notch crane picks. I only stand stuff up if I really need to, as operators can sometimes pull to hard. I do most of the times use a bypass cut.

Re: Tie into tree,Tie into crane? That is the ques

Holly,

not to go off topic again, or bust balls......your pic is from 2007! We arent reliving the glory days, we are talking what did you do today/yesterday/this week?? No more im better than you, lets see #'s guys.

Also your shackle in the first picture is misaligned causing the strength rating to be down by 50%......at least.

Pic 3, was that tree already onthe ground, or half on the ground? how long did that take, 2 hours say?

I think Chris girard can tell you HONESTLY how long a tree like that would take us. Its not about the equipment its about the fluid motions of the crew working together, without question, being so trusted in their actions and confident in themselves that it looks flawless and flows. thats what we strive for. get it doen smoothly, smooth is FAST.

please take me up on my offer and come visit us. I will put you up in my spare bedroom, feed you, and pay you for the time you work.......honest man, no gimmicks. I want you to teach me the tricks you say you have. And see what we do day to day, and you can then have FACTS to talk shite about us with, you too Xboy, same offer. i dontmind you breaking balls if the FACTS are there, no facts=hearsay/myth/imagination

tahts why we wear 2 way communicators. Full real time conversation with operator. If the same climber and operator go out everyday, these situations dont exist, and no need to worry. its when guys are bounced around, or use caveman style hand signals. Stop being cheap and buy soem Earmark headsets.

Re: Tie into tree,Tie into crane? That is the ques

Ok, Next.

Or was that bitch slap enough for ya?
girlshit.gif

30 inch white pine, start time 12:30 finish and clocked out at 3:30, forget what time tree was grounded. 26 ton altec, 20 inch chipper, 2 loads of 25 yard chips, 1 big, pretty sure we was over loaded. load of wood on crane.
