Tie into tree,Tie into crane? That is the question

Re: Tie into tree,Tie into crane? That is the ques

Its not about the equipment its about the fluid motions of the crew working together, without question, being so trusted in their actions and confident in themselves that it looks flawless and flows. thats what we strive for. get it doen smoothly, smooth is FAST.

What you're describing here is a thing of beauty.

not to go off topic again, or bust balls......your pic is from 2007!

That camera date is not true, this was this winter when NJ had the heavy wet snow. you can see where she broke out. I only worked for Luo Giroud tree for one year. Was from March 2009 to March 2010. Both of these crane pics are from Luo Giroud.

Watch the trees pile up while chip truck is gone, and watch how fast they dissapear. Count the loads.

Xboy, @ 0:35, is that horizontal enough for ya? 130'!

Re: Tie into tree,Tie into crane? That is the ques

Bull, We all don't have 3 football fields to lay stuff in, and we all don't have 60- 90 ton cranes. I'll take yea up on your offer I aint scared to look bad or look good. It could go either way, I showing you what I do with only 1/3 of what you have. Give me a bigger crane and I'm sure my rate and speed will zoom. I'm picking twigs at full reach while your still picking small trees.

That vid, was the job sold as no grass damage by fallin trees? Cause for the most part I'd of just notched them and flopped them, back chipper to it and chip. Was no need for a crane there, seeing as how you drove all over the place.

Rather then the money for the crane I could of had 2- maybe 3 chip truck for the same cost and done maybe 1/2 the time.?

Holly, I think Chris girard can tell you HONESTLY how long a tree like that would take us. Its not about the equipment its about the fluid motions of the crew working together, without question, being so trusted in their actions and confident in themselves that it looks flawless and flows. thats what we strive for. get it doen smoothly, smooth is FAST.

Without a doubt I can HONESTLY say that Bull's crew is finely tuned to each other's moves and are incredibly fast BUT SAFE.

I've watch and worked with alot of crews, but they are without doubt the fastest that I've seen.

You guys should really come up and work with them. Never mind just climbing, you should try to keep up with Leo on the ground!

Read story in TCIA Magazine from few months ago. Those greenbixes have statues under them that are priceless.

Those arent small trees, 50-80 footers, optical illusion bro. When you come here, ill bringyou there and you can stand where we worked and look outthat window. The place is a national treasure.

Re: Tie into tree,Tie into crane? That is the ques

LOL I wasn't saying they where small, I'm talking about the cranes at full reach. Your 90toner is good for what 3-4 thousand LBs, the 26 is only good for 1200.

Re: Tie into tree,Tie into crane? That is the ques

At full reach, they are both good for 2k. 60 ton is full reach at 120-125, we can boom down to 130 with about 500lbs. The 115T (not 90T) is good for 2k @ 165'. The 115 comes out on the big LONG jobs. When we need reach, not capacity close up.

Thanks Chris, we enjoyed having you with us.

That Roadside tree in Hollys pic, how long would that have taken us? We did all monster roadside trees one day the week you were here, so you should have a good feel on what it would take.

So both at the crap reach I've worked with of 90-127 max tonnage being 30, smoke what I can pick, get my point. So for me to post numbers that come close to yours says alot about what I get done, duh.?

Re: Tie into tree,Tie into crane? That is the ques

max pick to max pick, weight wise were the same, get my drift? 130' we have 500lbs, you said you have 1200. when we are at 125 we have 1k lbs. Same thing bro, nothing different.

When should I expect you?

Yeah, we did so many trees that week that its hard to keep track, but I know the one that you're thinking of and I beleive that we had the whole thing down and chip up with the logs off to the side for Logboy to pick up in something like 3 hours tops.

Re: Tie into tree,Tie into crane? That is the ques

You know, actually I can't think of really any trees that took us more than a couple of hours?

Thinks just went so smooth and quick that time was never a factor.

Re: Tie into tree,Tie into crane? That is the ques

Anyways, the pics of it, any job, with the detail. I posted 2. You've bs'ed, but not posted the details you called for it. Put them up there.

What do you want? Im game for any details I have. Im not on a crane crew right now, havent been for a month or so. Let me know what you need for info.

Better yet, come up and see for yourself, then you can come back here and tell the world how much we suck, with FACTS.

Re: Tie into tree,Tie into crane? That is the ques

Pics can only tell you so much. I'm telling you as a third party with nothing vested in this thread, that I was there and watched first hand how Bull's crew works.

We did not have cameras or videos around and it was just a typical day of first class, fast production work.

Re: Tie into tree,Tie into crane? That is the ques

Chris,

here is one ill never forget that you helped us on.

60"+ Ash, 10' from primaries, 30' landing zone, up against house, major road, and honey bee hive we had to plug up and control so noone got stung. 2 hour job. 30yds of chips, half a load of wood.
