"WHAT! what's that little saw doing on the climber?"

"you mean all those cuts so far were done with a 200T with 16" bar?"

Yup.

Re: Tie into tree,Tie into crane? That is the ques

I think the whole tree was just one slinged for the most part. One slinging much easier with a stick crane and cable compared to k-boom crane picking.

On this tree, when one slinging, if it was looking like the one sling might not be in the COG, we would lower or raise the limb while cutting until it went to it's resting location; easy to do on an oak where the fibers hold on well. no picks had any flipping around or fast movement that I recall (I have video too). Even though one slinging was faster on this tree and went smooth, I still would have to preferred spider legging, just because that's what I'm more comfortable with.

tied into k-boom for a nice manuverable, safe tie in point for the rest of the cuts. Hmmm, "tie into crane", wow, kinda back to the original post.

Re: Tie into tree,Tie into crane? That is the ques

the reason why that nice old tree was decided to be taken down. It's trunk was very hollow, at the point in the main trunk close to where the main crown was starting.

Also at it's base (not shown here), it had root rot and all the heartwood was a spongy wet mess of goo.

Re: Tie into tree,Tie into crane? That is the ques

heck with this, I'm not doing that again. I have a problem with not having a feeling I've finished something. And I'm still not finished, gotta show some other "big" jobs. I'll just show one or two pictures and description I guess.

see!, I got on the buzz at like 10pm I think, now it's 1:24am and I was going to go to bed at 9pm so I could get up at 5am and get a ton of stuff I NEED to get done in one day tomorrow.
I hate you people.

Re: Tie into tree,Tie into crane? That is the ques

Dirty, I bet you really could impress lots of people if you carried an 880 on your side all the time.
