This is the Akimbo

So the RR2 is floundering with no plans (that I have heard for production), what is the fate of the Akimbo? It has been almost two months with this thread being dead.

I would think a little update once and awhile is just good business sense. No? Even some marketing hype would be worth keeping the excitement building.

Is this a treestuff product too like the RR2?

the Akimbo is still on track. it is solely a rock exotica product, it will not be effected by whatever is happening with the RR2. aside from design input the project is more or less out of my hands at this point. im trying not to hype. i think it will hype itself when it does drop. ive been busy with the kiddo and the wife and i bought our first house a couple of months back. in good ol california all we can afford is a fixer upper so that is eating up alot of my time and energy that might otherwise go into posting more often online. dont get discouraged, its happening!

@JMerrit congrats on the new homestead!
thank you, and thanks Sean. its a lot of work but so worth it. ive finally got a shop space at my own house! now i just have to setup all my tools, wire outlets, install lights, build tool cabinets, finish the coffee table, screen in the porch, install a new toilet, build a closet, water the garden.... ;)

AAAHHH! yeah, one thing at a time.

The Rock Exotica rep at Tree Jam Camp said they are looking at a possible release at the TCIA EXPO. (y)
I'm hoping they won't be crazy expensive. After being able to get just a little climb time on one I am VERY excited at the possibility of owning one.....:laola:

Their site seems to be down at the moment. When is the next expo?

Best wishes on the success of the product. I am new to tree climbing but have been a mechanic/racer/fabricator most of my life so I naturally already have ideas dancing in my head on mechanical devices. My hats off to you on having the patience and strength of character to stick to your project long enough to see it through.

Don't forget the water jet, and CNC machining center LOL. On a serious note, now that you have your own place, you can pick up old non CNC mills and lathes, super cheap...while they are worthless for manufacture they are great for fabricating simple prototypes or making field adjustments/tweaks, to prototypes that you have previously had built for you.

Best wishes !
