This is the Akimbo

yup. but, Rock has licensed the Akimbo from me and will be making and selling it as a Rock Exotica product. as i understand it, treestuff has hired rock to help design and manufacture the RR2, but it is still a treestuff product and owned/licensed by them. i am personally excited to try it out. there is never going to be a device that 100% of climbers will love. more options is good for everyone in my opinion.
Gotta love this guy!^^
I think you're awesome @JMerritt

Did I miss something? I thought Kevin Bingham owned the Rope Runner lock, stock and barrel?

Did he sell his interest in the device to TreeStuff or something? Color me confused.

They have the sole rights to distribute the Singing Tree Rope Runner.

We have talked about tentative timelines for the commercial release. It will depend on a lot of factors so I can't make any promises. My gofundme parts will be done before then. ASAP is all I will say at this point

But, BUT As I used to tell my customers, ASAP tells me nothing..... NOTHING!
Oh the injustice!!

Can't wait Jaime

I might have called in to badger rock exotica about the Akimbo last week... The rep was very friendly and understanding of my sincere impatience. I really need a distraction, like an akimbo key chain bobble made by this guy: http://etsy.me/29Lh1cW

I gotta say, I don't get the separation of what is used based on tree size. SRT is not just
easier for going up. Smart use of body dynamics should not be based on the fact that you can get away with using a less efficient form for a short time.

Lift with your legs climb with your legs.

You can access trees ddrt using a foot ascender and HAAS or SAKA, and make the climb with your legs, just takes twice as many steps, imo though, so far, limb walking is easier to come back in ddrt, i hate prusik hitches, love mechanical hitches but dont care for the uni much but as of yet is seems to be the best setup for srt, besides a prusick, other options that arent 12" long would be appricated....i like compactness.

If you set your TIP with a ring and ring like DDRT you can jam the small ring and advance 1:1. Tie in at the height you want to work with your lanyard and pull the retrieval end down to untie the jam and switch back to Ddrt for limb walks. Then switch back to 1:1 at any time with a jam knot or a ring prussic. The wrench makes the switch over sooo easy...

@macswan what's causing the jury to still be out on the Akimbo, I am loving it. I found a couple ropes it doesn't play well with but for me it rocks on Tachyon and most Yale 11.7's. If your using Statics then I won't be much help but I know a few guys are flying static lines.
