Rapture Ready? Are You?

Here is a genuine website which tells you how close we are getting to the 'Rapture' or Armageddon.

These guys actively look for signs that the end of the world is coming and log them and give them a number. You can see the 'rapture' index.

I suppose if you ran at one of these guys with a sledgehammer screamin, 'I'm gonna kill you!" that would probably put the 'rapture' index up significantly.

But what it has to do with Christianity is beyond me.

Of particular interest on this site is the Gallery of Mansions Christians can expect to enjoy living at in Heaven. Notice how the less Christian you are the shitter your house will be.

Wonder what Jesus would say if he was around to see this nonsense?

I'm starting to dig a bunker in my backyard. When the Rapture starts I'm gonna be ready......sittin down in that bunker shaking like a little old leaf as the Forces of Good fight the Antichrist and his hordes.

That was a very interesting site. Those people are crazy!
I do have some points for you to ponder:

1: Fanatics stick out like sore thumbs….. I think that groups of people(present company excluded) are stupid. It doesn’t matter which group of people you are talking about i.e. Muslims, Catholics, Baptists, gays, straights, whites, blacks, men, women, arboristsite, governments, Actors, PETA, FEMA, OSHA, and so on…. Most of the Individuals that make up these groups are pretty cool people(I hope, cause im in some of them), but you put them together and the IQ drops instantly…. Most of what makes it through whatever media you subscribe to, is tainted by the screeching and yelling of a few fanatics that know how to get face time.
Ok what do I mean by this: If you ask all Muslims if they want to see Americans die, The vast majority will say NO, but if you listen to saddam and osama…… If you ask “real Christians” if all gay people should be stoned, they will say no. But there are some that scream this from the pulpit and TV…. The choice is clear, either judge on an individual basis, or believe the “truth” that you are spoon-fed.

2: It is a leap of faith…… you said that you wanted someone to admit it…… but what are the alternatives? If my faith is right, and yours is wrong(no faith) then you have Hell to pay…… but if mine is wrong and there is no God, then I am still your equal in whatever happens after this life…. Seams very much in my favor….. Faith is an amazing thing, it is very liberating and at the same time it binds you. I feel so free to not worry about the troubles that come my way every day, but it also makes me realize that I owe more than I can ever repay to my maker. You should try it sometime.

3: God tested Abraham…… sure he told him to kill his son(a portrait of the crucifixion and God’s only son), but then he provided an alternative when his faith was proven.

4:Yaweh….. Cruel or just? Is the death penalty just? What about that guy who got caned in Singapore? Should I have to pay back my credit card debt? Life sentences for crimes committed while a teenager? It is just a matter of perspective between cruel and just

5: Are we made in God’s image? Are there three parts to our existence?(Body, soul, mind). Were Adam and Eve so much different from us? Did the “fall” of man take away our resemblance of God? I can answer yes to all of these things

6: Atheism, the religion of calling yourself God… By not admitting that you were made and exist daily by the grace of a higher being, you are saying that you(man) are the smartest and best thing in the universe. You think that your ability to create(or procreate), and destroy makes you powerful. You hold and praise your intellect over any chance that there could be a God….. And what if you are wrong?

I could keep going, but at the rate that I am offending, Mark and Tom might throw me off.

I will get off of my soap box now….. no matter what you believe, question it….. and find out for yourself if it is true.

No offending going on in that post, I sure hope that this discussion can stay on track. Too often, when discussing politics, religion or se...well, the first two anyway, the discussion will take an unfortunate turn. Let's stay away from attacking other posts.

Most religions all have the common theme of "don't be an a$$hole." Such phrases as don't be a liar, don't steal, treat you fellow man with respect. I can see how some on this forum have problems with those concepts.

According to the definition: "a person who denies or disbelieves the existence of a supreme being or beings." --Dictionary.com

Why would you ask advise as to becoming an Atheist? Can't you see you deny God's existence already?
