The Past 4 Years

Your assumption is assuming I agree with what happened and am advocating for use of firearms. Knowing someone can do something is not the same as knowing they will. See the entire cold war standoff as an example. Did we walk a thin line protecting our country knowing the opposition could retaliate with nuclear arms? Did anyone launch any?

You are literally doing what you are accusing me of. You took one sentence I wrote and applied many other ideals to it without looking for clarification. Because one small group takes it too far, everyone who cares about the second amendment lumped in with them?

I am not the one saying either side is right. That's the problem. Each other. Making assumptions and taking sides instead if trying to have a conversation and understand each other.

You drew a giant conclusion that I am pro Trump and racist etc. You don't know me but you seem to think you do for some reason? I would make statements that are in line with them because it's not black or white as I said above. No one side has all the answers. I agree with parts of both sides so continuing to act like people who don't agree with you on every account are the enemy is dividing you from the other side. It's a nice distraction.

But since there is a wonderful echo chamber of hate here I will do my best to leave it be. We are all in this together. Politicians will try to divide the general population on both sides to further their own agenda. What is all the hate and negativity accomplishing? We need to learn to support each other and look for change in our leadership that is happy to act like children on social media platforms rather than look for consensus even if it doesn't fit their needs.

Both sides are devicive but you know for a fact your beliefs are correct. Anyone who doesn't agree is the enemy right and needs to agree with you?
 
I don't know a whole lot about Trump and his policies, but I have noticed that in the last four years we have been generally left alone, which I appreciate. It hasn't seemed to me that the "rules" were changing all that often or dramatically, and I like that stability.

I have heard, though not personally researched it, that Donald Trump's diplomacy has resulted in several peace deals in the middle east. If true, that is something to be applauded, regardless of what kind of person he is.
 
Trump has always made my skin crawl, even before he became a neo-politician, and I am glad to see him leave (I think he is more like the symptom than the disease).
There are several good things that have happened in my estimation during his term, one being the increase in energy production of America, Also the increased child tax credit has helped our family, as had terminating the mandate for health insurance.

I just finished reading “The Return of The King.” I was disappointed to see that chapter not make it into the film.

Ok fair enough, I have no desire for this conversation to erode into hostility. Lets move on.
 
I have an ancestor that fought in the revolutionary war. He was a unit drummer, so likely not a hero, but was there all the same. He likely marched under variations of the Gadsden Flag into battle, fighting against a tyrant for self determination as a new country. A new country which, from the start, used socialized services and institutions to provide a basic standard of living and to level the playing field to avoid another type of tyranny, plutocracy.
Seeing people storming the capitol under the Gadsden's flag to install a plutocratic tyrant makes me ill to my stomach. Every flag waving "patriot" there should be ashamed. They are the socialism for me not for you, religion for me, not for you, rights for me, not for you crowd- cherry picking a whitewashed version of history to stay high on confirmation bias.
At this point, they are so hypocritical that all reasoning really seems to have walked off the page. I'm not a huge fan of most democrats, either. But at least they still flirt with reality from time to time.

How is it patriotic to respect that? Patriotism (to me) is honoring the principles of freedom and liberty. Patriotism would be trying Bush and Cheyney for war crimes.
 
The past four years are merely the culmination of the past forty+ years. This shitball really started rolling once the dollar was untethered from gold and sold out to petrol. Carter was the last decent human being to occupy that position regardless of his political positions. A lot of shit was added to the ball with Reagan, Bush Sr. And the coming out of the neocons. The elimination of the Fairness Doctrine opened the door to hyper partisanship and the fake news industry.

Clinton fell many times into the honey traps and did the bidding of the true Owners. With the neoliberal movement ascending and corporate Republicans during clintons time finance and multinational corporations sold out Americans and the planet in general for greed in service of the old God of Mammon.

And just when you thought the shitball couldn't get any bigger came the 21st century union of the Neos....neocons and neolibs after 9/11 which only became obvious to me during the early years of Obama when he sold out his lofty rhetoric of hope and change all in the name of self preservation.

I imagine that one of the first visits an incoming president gets is from the Agents letting them know where the line is and the role they must play in order to not cross that line or else be JFKed, RFKed, Wellstoned, etc. same goes for Trump...he played his role and eventually crossed the line over the past two months and was told to STFU after the spectacle at the Capitol or else.

George Carlin in his last comedy special explained it all in 3 minutes with his big club rant....its a big club and we ain't in it. It seems at this point we're headed toward some techno neofuedal dystopia of sorts and no one and no party can stop it. All this division and distraction and the house will not stand which may be a goal. Forecast looks cloudy folks with a chance of shitballs

Pretty good summary. Although, I think Obama was veted and selected prior to election and the lofty was always just rhetorical marketing campaign.

Washington is a shit-hole because we keep sending shit-heads down there. To quote the Joker: "This town needs an enema!". Salvation for this county's governance is LESS of it.
The more we reject the intrusion and hegemony of the State, the less dependent and apathetic the sluggards amongst us will be. The poison of big bureaucracy! Free-market capitalism, Individual responsibility and the abolishment of the welfare state will get this country back in gear!
