The Bob Weber says, “NO ONE IN THE WORLD CAN DISMANTLE A TREE FASTER THAN ME…

Oh i see,i was putting an extre 't' in the allaboutrees.com. Funny cause that extra T takes you to another site and that fella also competed some tree events,i was super confused there fer a bit. Thanks for the clarification [emoji106]

I have heard all about Weber from co-workers who competed with him years ago. He has made some great contributions to our industry as well as challenged others to improve themselves. Got the privilege of seeing a lone camper at Green Lane park in pa at a local comp. Turns out it was the Weber my co-workers told me about. Never would eat breakfast but had an awesome time hearing stories and thoughts from him. Hope all is well Bob.

He caught some hell recently over an under-performing contract climber that he was mad about. I am not saying his points were invalid, just that nobody cut him any slack for being abrasive.

I also don't doubt that he is fast. And good with a saw. Fastest in the world is a big claim though.

One thing that I have noticed from the two comps that I have shown up for is that everyone tries hard to appear humble. Even (maybe especially) the really excellent climbers. Nobody wants to start any pissing matches between professional pissers in public.

Also, we can challenge whippersnappers now. They start as young as they ever have... And can't tie a blake's.

Ouch. Lol i started at 19. 25 now but learned on a tautline then a blakes now use a distel (dont like the vt). But i dont mind losing to an old schooler atleast you can watch and learn

In any given greater vicinity with big difficult trees/td's there are likely less than a half dozen guys (no girls Frax) that do the hardest takedowns and there is probably not much to differentiate them in time and safe accomplishment of the job. All have their own evolved techniques. I have been one of THEM all my working life. One of the goals doing a td by yourself or with 1 gm is managing the shit that hits the deck. Not burying yourself or the gm.

I think this would be more of a pita than it is worth stowing a saw on your chest (is that the big deal?) with a lanyard allowing you to have two hands free to direct the material. He doesn't work on any bigger trees than anyone else, he thinks he has some kind of magic. Me thinks he is endowed with a bit too much self importance in his waning years of doing an often unrecognized job in its degree of difficulty...which makes some, including me...a bit bitter.

Hey, do like me...just grab all the big buck$ you can for a given job...move on the the next one. $400 per day or whatever tf you get? Pi$$ money. I just finished a 4 day $8500. td and last week took a tree down for $4500. that took 3 hours. Nobody is handing out trophies.

Just post up a vid of your big shit technique and let's see whaz up.

So I spend 90 percent of my day (my life it seems) with a saw in one hand and cutting right thru a limb, and hanging it on my arm to drop, or tossing it while slice and dicing the canopy. Or cutting thru a big lateral stem chunk with one hand while my non saw hand is holding the end of the chunk so it doesn't peel or so I can direct its landing. Did you say you make a cut and then put the brake on and then can let the saw go?

I don't want to put the brake (after I have cut right thru a stem or chunk) on and just how tf do you put the brake on when you have a saw in one hand and a branch stem (or chunk end) in the other hand? The MS 150 has made my job so much more fun with a few mods on canopy removal. I think having all that laundry hanging from my saw would really piss me off not to mention that sometime the running chain and the laundry would be in the same place at the same time...not good.

I recall "The Bob" posting that he has left the building. Too combatitive in his social interactions or some such.....

One time I watched this documentary that was a series that spanned the globe. The Star/Reporter that traveled and uncovered mysteries of the ages was on a mission. He was told that someone in a remote mountain area had THE secret technique of martial arts. He took a plane across the seas, he took a train from city to dense vegetation, he took a bus, took an old beat up car thru jungle trails, he took a donkey and supplies up in the Andes or Himalaya s or wherever tf his guide led him. They crossed piranha infested streams, had poisonous snakes slither across their boots while they watched in amazement and terror. They climbed up through clouds on trails on the precipice of 1000 foot drop off canyons...until they finally reached the village where the master resided.

After a lengthy wait to attain audience with the Sensei, he finally came out through a clouded haze of opiate smoke and murmuring of his native subjects in a belted gi with exotic hair and a beard to his waist. Please sensei what is this magical technique that is revered by all that have ever studied combat movements? With that he put his 2 hands in a spear besides his rib cage and suddenly thrust them straight forward. All the natives oowed and ahhhed in delight. The reporter guy looked and in respect bowed...and left with the same journey he had just endured in mind. I swear I watched this for an hour. Amazing.

I have been using this a lot lately. Clip and shift saw to the hip grab brush or wood and do what you gotta do. grab saw again cut some more and repeat. Definitely really nice with the 660 so you don't have to drop and pick up the saw over and over again. keeps out of the snow and really like hanging the weight off the shoulder and not your wrist and elbows. Thanks for reminding me of this nifty tool

What length and width material are you using?

28" folded over blk diamond padded and w slots. 660 has short sling commandere from ratchet strap wit. Hook removed.
I got these dirt cheap fromclearance bin.
Trimmer or pole saw strap is nice and is mor easily adjustable. cam buckle strap will work

Cuts are bit to close with strap connected. Better to disconnect but you can make some cuts. Trimmer strap might be better if you can adjust on the fly easily.
