This is more for companies where the owner is one of the lead climbers. They know what it takes to get the job done and to bring it in on time. I definitely wouldn't train a lesser experienced climber this technique unless he he really really proved he wants it...One can be pretty fast when you're not working in accordance with some sort of industry standard.
None of this means I doubt Homebody's speed.
And do you guys really find a lot of young climbers who can't tie Blake's/tautline/2 over 1 under hitches?
You're right about three things: (1) I wasn't on here in '03 (2) you did share some knowledge (even if it was in an angry...er "cocky" way) and (3) I am a masturbater........still don't know how you knew that.......are you watching me Bob Weber?!
Royce, you talken about me? Can't figure you out; if you're with me or against me. Actually, nothing in thread is hype. Let's start with the fastest in the world taking apart a tree abiding my rules claim; all butts forward and advancing. Unless someone has discovered a better way to carry and handle a chainsaw than the method I use I think it has to be physically impossible for an ass swiper (swiping - reaching back to take your saw off the saddle and then franticly clipping your saw to get that hand free and back into play throwing the branch butt forward and advanced on the pile for easy retrieval by the ground crew) to put the saw away or drop it, and then retrieve it, for the next cut, let alone the time and fatigue it takes to restart the saw each time (all seconds add up to minutes, all movements during the course of the day add up and lead to fatigue). Oh, that old man thinks it's fatiguing to start the saw each time. Time is time, movement is movement, it's just that I don't need to do it so right off I'm ahead by so many seconds and I've eliminated that many movemets. Just getting that 8.6 pounds off your hip is worth trying this. The whole set up just flows. Clipped in short you just swipe to your back and it rides comfortably above your ass crack. You need to wiggle your body through some tight branches, just reach back and swing it round and lead it saw first in front of you. 40 years doing it this way, hundreds and hundreds of climbers around the world have seen me do this and to this very day I do not know of anyone that has taken me up on this. So, this time I've taken a different approach and that's what you are experiencing. This shit I have to deal with to just give you something and it's free. I take that back, nothing is free. You got to put up with this angry old man; and really, I'm not angry just pissed off. Yeah, you're right I am angry with LP. You would be too, Royce, even you. Now I remember his breaking point. He'd been having problems setting lines in the mornING so on his last tree he aced a 3.5 dia in red maple limb up sloping perfectly healthy and string perfectly in the crotch. I catch him starting to pull the string and ask what the issue was and he said he wanted to rethrow to an 8 in crotch 18 inches higher, he wasnt "comfortable" with the set. This was the last tree of the day and just before he told me he was quitting and going home because I made him "anxious and uncomfortable" but that he would be glad to rec climb with me anytime. Anyway I do admit I was very frustrated by this time of the day because he had put me behind schedule (sorry, I had put myself behind schedule because I had mismanaged him and he wasn't having fun; I should have read his posts because, I swear, everyone one of them has the word fun it, really, go look) so I did say, with attitude, that me and the 2 other guys would come over and hang on the rope with him and check the integrity of the branch. And, that's when it happened. He got this beat puppy look on his face and I really didn't think much of it cause up to this point I hadn't realized that I had done anything that any red blooded experienced contract climber put up with while making 500 bucks a day. Man, I thought I was over this. Tell you what, I'm going to take you up on that $300 dollar offer you made to me the other day. I went and read a bunch of your posts and see you're always offering to give people money. So just do it. Make it to Weber Tree Co, at least you'll be able to right it off. Do it...POB 118 Highlands, NC. You do it and I promise to never ever bring this up again...Bob WeberI have always found that the ones who have to talk about how well they are at tree work actually suck. It's like there continually trying to convince themselves that there actually good.
Man, those pictures just make me want to jump a ship aND join you. I'll make you a deal. I'm the "deal" maker. I'll come over there and work for food, beer and smoke and, if I prove myself worthy, after I get myself over there, you pay the air fare (from Pittsburgh cause a gotta leave my dog with family cause I don't have any friends.). I'm serious. I'll even pay half the airfare. My life is my work so you have to keep me busy. I can see the sights from the trees...pm me if you'd consider it. If you don't want me to mess with your sphere I'll understand...ps I do volunteer work at the Selby Tropical Gardens in Sarasota...With your comments Bob you certainly are growing on my...no BS is my style...I am aggressive aggressive and hate pussy footing and molly coodling folks ...I love prople hate excuses..my dad was thd same...good man RIP....interested what you got going on here with saw placement...lol

Why is the saw being restarted every time?let alone the time and fatigue it takes to restart the saw each time
Shocker.I don't have any friends
Unfortunate.My life is my work
You're a little too high strung for island life.I can see the sights from the trees
You're a little too high strung for island life.
Thus the if you don't want me to mess with your sphere...Why is the saw being restarted every time?

Im green and it feels great! My hearts in it and I've learned so much in my limited climbs. Years of pipe fitting and rigging in hvy industry have helped, but it's all anew..I have always found that the ones who have to talk about how well they are at tree work actually suck. It's like there continually trying to convince themselves that there actually good.
Bob that clip was hilarious...island life is SLOWWWW....lolWith all that said, I think all you people commenting about my personality disorders are wasting everyone's time. None of you realize how monumental this can be to your climbing style. You've probably never seen it done like this before. This is like the first time I put a Gibbs cam on my lanyard in the mid 70's (Bridgeman, Tree Surgery, England) That day changed my life. Yes it has OSHA implications but not for self employed climbers. The greatest advantage for speed and comfort is keeping it clipped in short and and an employee must have it on the extended tether while running so, if dropped, the blade comes to rest below the feet. With all the views I know there are people out there thinking about it. Tom's out there concocting something on his sewing machine already. So, anyway, I know you won't be able to help yourself so keep it coming and as long as I'm riding the manic wave I'll keep coming back at you cause I'm a good learner and you've taught me well...
You all probably think I'm kidding, too...
