...my trainee isn't much for knots. He's learning, but it doesn't come naturally for him like the athletic parts of our job.

The right handed version would be...taking a sling over the left shoulder and down to the right hip. The saw sling is clipped to the shoulder sling. The saw dangles from the sling over to the right hip.

This eliminates clipping and unclipping the saw from the hook on the harness.

That's what I'm doing with this thread; sharing what works for me. The header got your attention, didn't it. You guys are the ones that started the The Bob Weber thing; they thought they were messen with me but i liked it so i took it. I'm not angry here. If you are good with a small saw this will make you amazing. Most of the our work in the tree is off center and at an angle and the saw hangs plume, running and right with you. I knew exactly how I would be treated when I attacked the kid. I didn't want any slack. They slammed me right out of the gate and THEY WERE RIGHT TO DO IT! Think I'm here to make friends?!? I got a dog. Ive worked totally solo for 30 years cause I won't work with slackers. Wanna here another boast? I can cut down any tree in the world by my self. You pay my hourly rate and I'll cut Frisbees all day long. I'll carry fuel cans, dozens of short ropes to lower stuff out, pre set a couple of solo speed lines and I'm off... $85.00 per hour (that's my old rate before the kid showed me how the younger guys work but I'll give you the old rate just to make a point)

I think I could hang with you. Trust me, if you saw what we've got going on in Germany you would see that I am a team player. I'll aways be passive aggressive but they have a way a calming me down. They are professions and I am too. Hell, even Bettis doesn't really like me but, being one of his first teachers, he respects me.
