TCI's Effer 655 Knuckle Boom

Re: TCI\'s Effer 655 Knuckle Boom

The outriggers look crooked because this is 5 pictures stitched together and the software messed it up.

Re: TCI\'s Effer 655 Knuckle Boom

Have you guys run into a scenario where you can only put the riggers out, on the side of the truck you are picking on? For example, parallel parking close to a curb and putting the riggers in a lawn, but the street is so narrow that you can't put them out on the street side.

I see the Euro's doing this often. To me, it can be another selling point of a Kboom vs. Stick boom.

Interesting question Jamin. Makes sense that you could do this so long that everything was always loaded to that side.

I like the pictures. I will own a KBoom some day. Seems so versatile.

we do this on our stick boom all the time, I've done it a couple of times with my kboom too.

Re: TCI\'s Effer 655 Knuckle Boom

A huge advantage of having down and outs instead of a-frame outriggers. BUT, according to my crane inspecter anyway, OSHA says that if you are short jacked on one side (and you better have factory load charts for the various amount of outrigger extention) you must go by the chart for that extention. So....even though they are out all the way on the side you are working, if the other side is in, you must go by the chart for the in side.

Make sense? Of course not! But that is what they say so good to know if you intend to fully comply, common sense aside.

What an amazing beautiful piece of equipment.

Some of the picks looked like there was a bunch of unnecessary slings...but i wasn't there...i'm sure there was a good reason.

I loved how the dingo and the grinder are carried on the flat bed

Very nice

If we deem things unnecessary, then we don't do them. To each their own and what works for them. I'm so tired of the whole spider leg debate! It's old, it's worn out, and it's boring. We plan on using them for ever.

I do like loading the equipment on the bed vs loading and unloading a trailer. Thanks

Sorry...i didn't mean to offend. My wording was poor. I was actually looking for a reason based on circumstance.

Anyway guess I avoid that topic.

...and i'm just jealous of your KBoom

Happens on streets especially. Any crane can do this.

I made a mistake though. Butt log had some limbs. Ground men had problem, cutting off limbs on bed of truck..... So I swung to short outrigger side...... With no pad. Rigger went through ground..... I set trunk down before truck went over.
