Stihl toolless oil/gas caps

Yep, many a oil or gas dump but usually when I'm not really paying attention. It requires checking and sometimes double checking. While it appears a good concept the execution in this case is wanting. I have had a cap fall apart on me and the replacement is about 10 bucks! GRRRRRRRR.....

They can be a pain in the rear Usually the other guy gets fed up with it and gets all pissed off, curses and asks me to do it. First day we ran one. the other guy sent it up in the bucket and we couldn't figure out why the climber was just cutting a small piece of wood over and over. He was really putting chips in the bucket to absorb/cover all the oil in the bottom of the bucket.

They suck. I work with 8 other staff and a variety of Stihl tools. We go through a dozen or so new caps a year from breakage. Plenty of dumped fuel also.

On the brightside: the old Stihl caps sucked in their own special way.

The newer cap may not be a step up, but probably more of a step sideways.

Too many moving parts. K.I.S.S. - Keep It Simple Stihl, It's a cap for crying out loud.

Used to go through about one a month, always kept a spare or two. Yeah,yeah...I know keep it clean and double check it. Come on, it's a cap, screw it on, contents stay in. Glad I don't have to flip, unscrew, clean, screw, flip, double check, the bar oil jug every time.
