haha, come on now john, youve been in the industry long enough to know exactly what your in for, its going to be great

heres a question, how hard is it going to be for me to get my climbing gear on the plane? obviously i cant bring my handsaws or anything like that, but will they give me any beef about anything else? im obviously going to leave my spikes behind as well and thats about the only thing i can think of as far as not being able to go on the plane

ill wear my saddle on the plane if i have to, i should have my new treeflex in by march so if anyone is interested in climbing in the treeflex and the treemotion ill have both with me for use and abuse purposes

Hey Marc, We plan to start pretty dang early on the 12th so I would recommend getting into Louisville on the evening of the 11th. Most of us are heading out of town around 2:00 a.m on the 14th to head down to the Southern TCC so you may want to fly out the evening of the 13th.

Marc, you can check your gear at the airport and more than likely it will get through fine. I wouldn't recommend taking too much gear in your carry on, unless you don't mind losing it. Your biggest problem will be restricting your gear to 50 lbs. or less so you can avoid the "overweight" charge. Good luck.

I recently flew on Northwest. I was 10 lb. over the 50 lb limit; they charged me $10. But the charge goes higher at various wt. increments. Check w/ airline for charges.

shouldnt be a problem seeing that im not packing any clothes, double up on the t shirts and wear one pair of jeans, timeless and classic, all i have to worry about now is gear, two saddle, a rope and some hitches and pulley, ill wear the pantin on board, maybe even the croll as fashionalbe suspenders

now that i think about it, kentucky, im going to fly in tuesday night cause i have a feeling they are going to search me before and after i get on the plane based solely on my appearance

I think we should institute a rule from now on. Nobody, and I mean NOBODY, should ever mention whiskey, cuddling, and loose a$$ in the same post, ever again.

That aside...

Come early, stay late.

We've got a couple "super secret" shop projects in the works now, and those who come by might get a sneak peak. A hint... they involve suspending things from the ceiling. Beer to follow.... and preceed.

For those who are planning to attend this symposium and are wondering what type of splicing tools they should bring, here is the list. If you don't have the tools, no problem, we will provide tools for you.

Splicing fids: 3/8", 7/16", 9/16", 5/8"
masking tape
scissors
splice wands (if you use them)
wire fids (will have wire on hand to make them)
tape measure or yard stick
sail needles
sail palm

We will be providing copies of instructions from different manufacturers but it wouldn't hurt for you to begin looking over the instructions now. Here are the web sites for the instructions:

Go ahead and sign me and climbncut(Justin) up. We did have plans on taking the Certified Tree Worker/Climber Specialists exam in Bowling Green, KY. The Splicing Symposium and exam dates are the same, so we figured we can always take the exam later. Also, we will be headed to the Southern TCC afterwards and I have room for two maybe three if anyone would be interested in a ride there and back..
