Well tomorrow I have some storm damage to work on and pick up some cash here in Indiana then I'll be heading out either tomorrow night or Wednesday early morning. We'll see how the tree work goes tomorrow.

The tent is ready, the mr. buddy heater has gas to keep me warm just in case. The whiskey is packed, splicing tools ready to roll, only downer is my new rope is in Knoxville. 200 ft. of neopro. I am super pumped to get to see everyone do a little climbing and have at it.

We can't wait to see you Tyler. With any luck the snow will all be melted by tomorrow....but if not, who cares it will still be a ton of fun..

The weather forecast is looking up: 48 today, 58 tomorrow, and mid 60's on Thursday. Night time temps of mid 40's...perfect for camping..well perfect for the coyotes anyway..

Travel safely everyone.

I'm really pissed i'm gonna miss this, Just wasn't in the cards. Hopefully i'll get to meet all you guys soon, and learn that splicing thing. Till then enjoy this one. GRRRR...

Todays report from the Splicing Symposium:

The pig is finally in the ground and several guys are in the air (sleeping in the trees).

Lots and lots of splicing, everyone is learning a lot and having a wonderful time.

Pictures soon to follow!

Well the Splicing Symposium is all wrapped up and I personally want to thank every single person who was there for making this a huge success. For me it was a thrill me meet all of you.

Rich Hattier deserves an extra special thanks for coming up with the idea for this event and getting the meeting location for the symposium. Thanks Rich!!!!

New England Ropes also deserves huge thanks for providing the rope for splicing, they were a big help!

Hopefully everyone learned a lot and had a great time in the process. Everyone that was there should be proud of what they learned and the new skills they possess. Enjoy the rewards and beauty of climbing on your splices; I'm sure you will find it enhances your climbing experience.

I had a blast. I have a new found respect and understanding of rope as never before. I still cannot believe I actually spliced rope. Amazing!!! Thank you, everybody.

My hands hurt.

It was actually 1/4" Vectran. Thanks, Rob.

Knock'em dead Sunday, bro.

Hats off to Rich and the other splice gurus, I can't remember ever learning so much in so short of a time. You gotta give it to some pros who are willing to give away the secrets of their trade to their customers. I might still be willing to pay for an eye in Tachyon...

Why did I bring the Maker's Mark all the way from Cleveland when I could have bought it at the distillery?

Has the splice given by this gentleman been broken yet? It was on funky looking splice for sure. It was the true blue splice done by this municipal guy from up by Cleveland with WAY too much free time. It wasn't pretty but I was curious what it broke at if Rob got around to it.

I love the tractor as a milking anchor, I used to use my car... now I have a well placed light (telephone) pole. I plan to put an eye lag into a floor joist at some point.

I'm sorry I missed it but glad you guys had a good time.

Great shots Mark !!!! NIce BlueGrass soundtrack too !! I have been working on resizing my pics from Hickory Heights so hopefully I can get them up soon.

Huge thanks to everyone who participated in this event for adding about 20 years onto my life. That was more fun than anyone should be allowed to have. Thinking of Kevin Bingham in that hammock will always bring a smile to my face.

Thanks to the miles of rope that New England Ropes supplied all of our students had plenty of opportunity to earn a few blisters and come away with some very well crafted splices. House, Octavious, and John all put on fantastic classes and everyone ate up all the information and then asked for seconds and thirds. In fact, I think Chip is still out in the barn splicing as we speak.

I can't wait til we can do this all over again.

I know I really missed out on this one. It was some kind of miracle the way the weather worked out for you guys/gals...it feels like its been raining for two months non-stop basically. Thanks for another cool production Allmark.

The weather was nice the company was nicer and I can't wait to do it again. Mark that was an awesome production you made there. I can't wait to see everyone again.
