standard class1 double braid? its a piece i got with a sidewinder, i want to replace it with some 8mm to fit longer yank in it. Just want to get some practice with different ropes

Nice snag! With our crap $ I can't afford to buy from TS anymore ...in fact I can't afford to buy anything from the US anymore. Bought the Shizll ring from the Netherlands, Harken ring from Ontario, and Teufelberger rope from Australia. A truly international sling.

CBM, as long as it is spliced as an eye to eye (AP 8 and 10mm) can be spliced following class 1 double braid instructions. It's a really nice easy splice cause the core is so slippery.

"The newer 10mm with the Yellow Tracer (orange core) is MUCH more difficult to splice vs. the older Red Tracer 10 mm. I believe the sheath was tightened up a bit to try to fix the herniation issues of the older cord.

The newer stuff can be coerced to bury smoothly and from what we have seen so far the herniation issues have dropped off dramatically..."

I spliced some 10mm OP for a lanyard. Gonna try this with a Trango Cinch.

Very nice. My lanyard system has all the same hardware, different 10mm cord. That looks sharp!

I'm using 10mm Armor prus on my cinch. Sexy as all get out!

How long is your lanyard? I went with 15' this time, much longer than I've used 8n the past.

I spliced it out of a 15 foot long section. So just under 15.

For me,my 15' lanyard has it's moments of seeming like it's only 7.5'...
