Show off them splices

This was no fun at all. The hi mod 8 was so easy. And the 10 has such a tight cover. I had to taper the core quite a bit to run it through.
Must be a new run of it. The 10mm's always seemed as straight forward as the 8...

Thats what i was told. It was the hardest ive done. Ive tried almost all makes of rope at least once. When i wrap this stuff around my finger it it stays that shape its crazy. It took me over 30mins to burry it even using a hammer and all my weight.

I've had some turn out even tighter, depends on your cover taper and the amount of tension on your final bury! Then there's the tension of weave while manufacturing! Had a couple that wore my shoulder out beating them w/ a dead blow hammer!

I took extra time on the cover taper and the core taper before final bury. Everything I read was right on. It slid together like a dream. I put my saddle on and attached to that to put tension on while burying the crossover. Maybe it's just that I'm used to velocity?

Using the new tRex I ran the splice inside itself twice and buried the ends. I'm new to the splicing thing so this was fun.

I ran a bungee a couple inches into the 5mm cordage that ran through the foot loop. This was for a smaller climber that needed more bungee added in. The clip in point was a small pulley that allowed the bungee to be ran back to double the length.

Very nice... that Polydyne should give it some good energy absorption. It seems to do that quite well even with short lengths. Good looking tool.
