Show off them splices

IMG_20150907_143213366.webp Just got this rigging ring in from Treestuff. Ordered a grab bag of rope from Knot And Rope Supply in Ohio. Got a great bag. Lots of Tenex and 16 strand. 16 strand worked great here.
 
Pretty cool. I looked into the machines and one is $6k and the other is $18k, doing them by hand looks appealing now.

I have a hank of it, myself... I really like it. Mine doesn't have the tight eyes, though, and I'd prefer that it did. I'll have to give it a try!
 
Man Cougar Puke has a tight cover. Had more trouble with this double braid than some smaller diameter stuff. For those of you who've had trouble stitching through a hard throat before, the sailor's palm is the ticket for pushing most of the way through. But then you have to pull from the other side. Put some tape on your pliers so you don't damage the needle and you're in business
