been testing out the Boomsling this week on a lemon scented removal.

I just ordered materials from treestuff to make a boomsling in 5/8 with the #2 thimbles

I figuire while I'm here I'll throw up my first successful splice.

8mm beeline into an eye an eye, for a retrievable srt redirect.

Was the electrical tape included in the finished product or did you whip dat shit down?

Electrical tape cause I was lazy, I'm currently off work due to an injury. I need to trim the cover (forgot to zero it out before measuring and inserting the core, oops). It will be stitched/whipped before usage.

I think if you're using 5/8 tenex you'll have to use the big #3 thimbles. 1/2 tenex would work on the #2 thimbles. I could be wrong though as the abr thimbles are slightly wider than x-rings.

Treestuff says the abr thimble will host up to 7/8 I believe. If not I will order number 3s and get 1/2 tenex..... can't ever have enough rigging stuff. Lol

This is true, but because of the way the boomsling is constructed the rope nearly doubles in size when going around the ring. Still might work though.

I know the abr retrievable triple sling is made with 5/8 and has #2's so I'm fairly confident. I will let you know in a few days

def like it, didn't get the snug on the rings as good as yours but the way the two rings keep the rope away from the trunk and the bend radius is gold.
I will be making some more, my preference is for a whoopie style personally , will test them out on some bigger blocking down tomorrow and let you know how they performed.

Thanks Jeffgu. Had some things laying around and a little hang out time with the kids. Didn't have a friction saver (although I'm almost always srt) but I took on the challenge anyway.

Actually, I Didn't. And I forgot to put the shrink tube on. Hell I even forgot to put the DMM ring on, I had to pull the cover back out of the core but it worked out.
