Show off them splices

How'd you like that workshop? Did you meet Jose? That dude is faaast.
I loved it! About 18 of us there. The first day some of us hung around until 8 p.m., but 12 hours standing on the shop floor was killer on my knees and back. Hands were pretty sore by then too.

Day 2 was more casual and ended by getting to run wild in the warehouse on a shopping spree. Thankfully I'm not married because I blew money like a drunken sailor.

Not only is NickfromWI a super smart splicer, but he's also funny, witty, generous and cool. Jose and Eric are the bomb. They had a splicing race to win $75, and they both produced a double braid eye splice in 5 minutes, 43 seconds. I think Eric won by a fraction of a second.

We got to break test lots of stuff: not just splices, but porta wraps, XSRE biner, etc. They have awesome splicing stations, including 3' steel beams bolted to the floor with a cleat and a large and small post mounted on top for pulling and yanking.

I would definitely do it again.

For sure! The oceans splices really look nice. I have never tried splicing something that small, too small for my fat fingers!
10mm OP splices easy peesy. If you can splice things like tachyon and cougar, there's no reason why you shouldn't be able to do hitch cord. From one guy with fat fingers to another, go to harbor freight, buy a set of micro screwdrivers and grind the points in to little duck bills. Makes little things easier to grab when you have a variety of picks hanging out. Best 2 dollars I've ever spent.
