Yale wouldn't give such stupid names to their ropes, Poison Ivy and Calemine was Sherrill's brilliant idea. Keep splicing Tyler! And speaking as your sponser, rope addiction is not as serious as other addictions...Ahhhh I get it! I thought u were correcting me. Yale needs to stop with that trend so this doesn't happen. Calamine works like a charm
Very nice!Thanks Worthaug.

The construction of Beeline blue doesn't seem to differ much from the AP 10mm...I got confused when reading the beeline thread. So is beeline blue allowed to be spliced with a class 1 splice? I see the red is allowed so why wouldn't the blue?

No, I've only spliced the old 10mm with the yellow tracers and the standard 8mm. I feel like I've seen the 10mm blue spliced by brummelling the core like the Samson Ice eye to eye then sliding the cover back over it...thats what i thought! have you spliced the blue?
The old stuff has a poly core and the new beeline blue has a vectran core if i remember correctly.I got confused when reading the beeline thread. So is beeline blue allowed to be spliced with a class 1 splice? I see the red is allowed so why wouldn't the blue?

So does that mean this splice is a no no?The old stuff has a poly core and the new beeline blue has a vectran core if i remember correctly.
Actually AP's core is Spectra 900...If the core is Vectran, which I believe it is, it is self abrading which means this splice is a no no. AP blue 10mm core is Dyneema and it is acceptable to splice an eye to eye with class I instructions.
John, see my second post? The core of AP 10mm and 8mm is Spectra 900 and that splice is an acceptable class 1 in an eye to eye. Dyneema is a class 2 but rarely seen with a cover so a straight bury is good.Didn't know dyneema was ok for class I, thanks worthaug
Look at you getting all Fids and Fibers fancy with it!View attachment 30760 Turned it into a 2.0. Three Brummell, lock stitch, whipping, then pulled the Marlow shrink tube back down over it all. Will whip and lock the Brummels with throwline tonight. Worked great today
