16 strand, tachyon, and kernmaster. New at splicing. Start with the toughest first and the rest are easy Haha. Still need whipping on a couple but they came out well.

6 tachyon splices later. Finally pleased!

That stitching looks a little crooked Tyler, do it over and get it right this time. Lol. Nice looking ends. Good job.
Haha I knew someone was gonna say that, its hard using a vice and get the stitches straight. Shouldn't be too hard to pull them out and start over

Tyler can't you use some cutoffs from the tail to stitch those splices, those threads are really distracting. No just screwing with you Tyler, nice lokking splice, seriously.

Splicing up a storm Tyler! On some tough ropes too. Is there any special reason you whip-lock some splices and do a basic lock-stitch on others?

I got the shits of stitching like how I was. Such a pain and I was never satisfied with the outcome. I saw the spiderjack video and really admired that stitching technique so I copied it.

With Tendril, just make sure to take the extra time to remove every bit of slack out of the core where cover is buried before you run it home. I was able to milk it almost all the way and with two hard snaps (no rubber mallot), it was burried tight.

haha thanks! This and the black tachyon are about 15' shorts. Pieces that guys at my work cut and i saved a bunch because i wanted to get more into splicing than just 16 strand. I really want to splice some of that pink tachyon that N.e.tree posted.

It's called poison Hi-vy, the pink is the calamine. Here is the link to the spider jack vid, you probably have seen it. You can see his splice at 1:20

Ahhhh I get it! I thought u were correcting me. Yale needs to stop with that trend so this doesn't happen. Calamine works like a charm

No, I would never correct you man. Trying to make you laugh :)

So I see the stitching in the vid but it looks like the standard lock stitch. Is there anything special about it? Or are you just saying you like it better than the whipstitch?
