saw for hire tv show?

Few know it but...Thousands have.

LOL

Yea this industry has come down to what papers you have rather than what you can actually do. An Irish setter can have papers and blue ribbons out the pooter, still doesn't mean he can be a great bird dog.

So.... Since I have had a climber get injured while working for me, I have no business trying to educate anyone on safety any more. Got it.

I debated on whether to even start this, but I can't feel right about just letting everyone else learn from their own accidents that could have been prevented.

Hollenreich,

But a good bird-dogging Setter WITH papers is always going to be worth more.

As far as the driving instructor analogy goes, I wouldn't want someone with a bad record of DUI's or reckless driving teaching high school kids how to drive, of course not.

But if I were taking a Performance Driving School, I'd be happier taking classes from someone who's had it on the lid at 200mph.

But that's just me.

Northwind.

Sure he is but that not really the point. Ok your dogs a great papered bird dog but he has a bad habbit of eatting the bird once in awhile. Now he might only do it once out of 8 years. I still don't want that high priced dog near my dogs. Why? Cuase sooner or latter my dogs will pick up his habbit.

Driving, climbing, or whatever, if your going to claim to be an instructor, then you should be able to place yourself on a high horse without the fear of being knocked off from old past issues.

And they wont, they'll be using your accident as an example for years to come. By no means of course educate, strive to always be better right? In the same though, should a guy with repeated issues be one to teach a class? I say no, it's my opinion.

I'll ask you this Noel, I know you think I hate you, hates such a strong word. I never hate anyone execpt some old bosses. Might have some diffs in veiws and ideas, which is cool cuase it really would suck if we all just agreeded on everything.

you get a call, Hi I go around and teach companies how to do work safe. I've been doing for 6 years I know the anzi and osha rules in and out. I've even had my own show on local TV, it even made tlc once. (man this sounds pretty good at a quick glance don't it? ) My name sure it's Paul, Paul Nosack. would you hire him? he's only had one bad thing right? I mean you've only seen what he does on tv, which he can maybe explain as just drama for tv, you don't know he could be the safest guy around. Should he be the guy we allow to teach others the safe way to work? By the shows I seen he has alot of accidents to share and teach from?

Were doin storm work and one of my guys is hustling some jobs when this mercedes suv pulls in the driveway. Well it was paul nosak.harry recognizedhim and said what's up so he tooks pn pic. Then gave harry the nosak shirt he was wearing. Then funny part is he asked harry where was his hardhat,he was passing out cards. I thought that was kinda ironic

Treebuzzer xyz"Have you seen that show about M&D Tree Experts? Those guys are a bunch of idiots. The other day one guy was on a bucket trucks headache rack and he wasnt tied into anything!!!!" Treebuzzer abc"Yeah I know and the worst part is that I spotted someone wearing chaps that looked old and degraded!!!"

It seems dumb, but it would literally get that ridiculous.

Derrick: I kindly disagree. I think you are painting a grotesque picture of the situations which may arise here. Awareness of dangerous practices in our line of work should be welcomed at all times.

The last thing I would want is someone to watch me, see many dangerous habits, and say nothing about it. In fact, it would be even more counter productive to just say the cliche , "Good Job!" Or, "Well done." Being P.C. for the fear of opposition or rejection is negative reinforcement in the context of safety work habits IMO.

Yes, there is bickering between folks in the world of arboriculture and that sucks. But, we're human. Well, some of us are.

Exactly the way I feel about it.

Papers, like any other credentials get you in the door, performance keeps you in the game.

Dogs are the same (been there, done that). We would always look at their performance to determine if they are living up to their billing.

HR, you say repeatedly doing something wrong. That of course would disqualify them in most everyone's books. The person who has learned from their mistake and improved, shows that in their record and talks from that standpoint has cred.

If we learned only from those that are perfect we'd never move forward.

I am also alerting the regional OSHA staff to watch the show. I've spent 15 years trying to improve the image and perception or arborists and it gets shot down in 2 seconds by this MORON.

[/ QUOTE ]

Seriously. Does OSHA need more than the video evidence of blatant violation of safety regulations provided by this idiot to fine him?

This guy would not get two steps out of the truck before I turned him around and sent him packing. He OOOOZES ignorance.

WOW. I have read most of these posts now. I agree with most every one. I have watched a few of the episodes on his site, all that I could stand really. I guess what bothers me the most about this type of programming, aside from the damage it may do to the industry, is that it only shows the damage that can be done by a fallen tree. It never even attempts to address the role that PHC and monitoring of tree health can play in reducing or eliminating the threat of "deadly trees". The way this J.A. makes it sound, we should clear cut all of our residential landcapes. You never know when one of these things might attack.

At best this guy runs a second rate "tree removal service" he is not in the "tree care industry" and certainly not an Arborist.

it ok it's all over. SShhhhhhh.

sorry, i like this a lot a though.

recent post on nosaks forum,

"what paul is doing is showing the real way of tree
climbing. no he's no a hacker! does he talk tough to the guys, hell yes, but 9 out of 10 times its because they dont listen to him. the crew is good, yes mistakes get/got made but maybe it was for "show" i watch this crew with my own eyes, i lived in pauls world for 3 1/2 yrs. paul pays for any mistakes that get made. and all he's doing is trying to do what other shows are doing entertainment. tree life isnt pretty and you dont get college degree employees. do you complaint when phil on deadlist catch cusses his crew? hell no thats why we watch it! same here. its paul's 1st attempt at producing a show. axmen, the crew went mia for days for a hangover. NATURE OF THE BUSINESS FELLAS! but paul always rewards his crew nicely as well. yes he makes them earn their pay, but its not a sit on your a&& job. you have to be an a&&hole in the tree business. and as for the local companies in town, i also know a few of you as well (mutual tree climber from wv) and you dont handle your crew with kid gloves. so stop the bashing and give paul a chance to make the show what it can be."

i like the part where he says,

" you have to be an a&&hole in the tree business."

i got 2 years at tech college, on a three year apprenticeship. ten years later some guy tells me i just needed to be an A&&hole! i wish i had known back then, could have saved a whole load of hard work studying!!!!

Yes, we will feature many tree pros along the way.....

Dean, that really peaked my interest, which tree pro's did you have in mind for middle Tennessee. I hope Rob Bramblett is top of the list. There are most assuredly some wanna be "tree pros" in the area. Have you contacted the TUFC? Sam Adams and Jim Cortese are top notch arborists as well as Dr. Doug Airhart. Did you talk with David Lee or Cynthia Mills at TCIA?

Hollenreich, I hope we meet one day soon.
