Saterdays job

I bought a lot next door to my house and thought this would be a great oportunity for my twelve year old son to learn how to a little more then recreational climbing. So i slapped some spurs on him and sent him up a Black Oak to limb on the way up.

I have 4 sons, none of which followed dads footsteps. They all had the opportunity to rec climb at about 14 or 15 years of age. The 2 youngest even did some 90-100' rappels off a cliff.
Awesome pics. Thanks.

Great pictures. It's good to see father's take an interest in and spend time with their children.

If he turns out to be 'klimbinfool - the next generation' /forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif great! If not, you've given him some valuable lessons, not just in climbing, but in life.

DAve , sturdy looking fella you got there. nice pics. Thanks everyone for the compliments. Funny, he tells me he doesn't want to do tree work and if he doesnt , thats ok with me. It's hard work as you all know.

He's been with me on many jobs dragging brush and ropping out material and by the end of most jobs, he's ready to quit again and never work with me on weekend jobs again...So , by mixing it up a little, ground and climbing it keeps his interest up. The lot I bought next door has alot of good beginner climbing, cut and drop material. It will be good for him if he likes.

Thanks
Greg
