so yesterday i decided to help out my uncle with his landscaping company. i was mowing the lawns of a condo that has these really nice mature mango trees that are over 40 feet tall and have been there for over 60 years. well sadly they hired a guy who said he was a certified arborist. i asked him some questions while we were there and he has no knowledge of modern arboriculture. he is known for topping tree's(he calls it pollarding). anyway he just butchered these mango tree's that had probably the best sweetest juiciest mangoes you would ever taste in your life. the tree was reduced in height soo far and went WAY beyond the 1/3 foliage rule. i feel like there needs to be more tree education in hawaii. is there anyone interested in helping us out? i was thinking about organizing a pruning and safe climbing class and would like get a bit of help. im just fet up with all the wrong pruning practices here. i guess im just a bit pissed off because those mango tree's were what i saw and mowed under every tuesday for 5 years of my life. i'll try to get some pics but whats done is done and this guy irritates me. his name is jeff gray and has been calling himself an arborist for 30 years but has no credible ISA certifications. what should i do?
