Russia invades Ukraine

the elite simply "glitched" the ballot system machines.
Still believing that, hmm. Ask all the swing state Republican secretaries of state who re-certified the vote results after multiple recounts.

What’s funny about that is that the “elites” are so sophisticated that they manipulated the vote so that Trump lost and all the other Republicans on the ballot won. Amazing isn’t it?

Russia really sucks for destroying the one and only Anotonov AN-225, the world's largest aircraft, in a Ukrainian hangar. I'd rather Russia destroy it than Ukrainian people, but it still sucks.
It is a bummer... I used to watch it fly in and out every month or two here in Tulsa. It would pick up and deliver oil field equipment. It was incredible seeing it just floating low in the air. It pretty much had to fly halfway across the city super slowly to land.

I’d like to see a breakdown of Florida’s investments with Russian ties. Meantime, we are still buying Russian oil. Hundreds of thousands of barrels every day. We are funding this war. How is that acceptable?

You're looking at dated information. And we are not buying that much to begin with. I mean, we imported more from Ghana than Russia. Any current flows of Russian oil to the US were purchased on contracts fixed months ago. The banking sanctions will have more effect on this as time goes on.

I have no reason to doubt you. But the question remains, why are we buying any at all? We are lucky enough to have the ability to be totally self-sufficient when it comes to oil and basically all other energy needs. But for some reason we won’t use our own resources. It’s not as if we’re saving the world by not opening Keystone by the way. We’re using the same amount of oil, it’s just being drilled and shipped by other people who live a lot farther away and may or may not despise us. I’ll bet their standards for environmental protection are a lot less strict than ours too. So oil use (and pollution) stays the same but we enrich dictators who then start wars with our money. I fail to see where any of this is beneficial to us.

I might add that Ukraine doesn’t have the luxury of waiting a few months to see if the sanctions are effective.

Price and quality. Why buy oil at $68 when you can get it at $63? Why buy 19 API at 3.4% sulphur when my refinery is built for 36 API 0.9% sulphur? Why run 22 API when I don't have a hydrotreater and get stuck with high asphalt production when I could max out my FCC on 40 API and make high octane RBOB?

FWIW Very little, if any, of the Keystone oil is drilled. Most of it is 'tar sands'. Another issue is the disregard for how water is protected along the way. It's really not.

Meanwhile, Canadian imports of oil have nearly doubled since KXL was proposed, despite it not being built. And make no mistake, most of that oil would head to the gulf coast for export.

Russia is trying to control the information. I don’t doubt there is ample propaganda on all sides. Somewhat rightly so, if I were under attack from Russia I’d be damn sure I’d do what it takes to get as much support as possible.

This shit is really freaking me the fuck out. Regardless of fault, blame or cause this spark light a fire under a gas tank. This will get much bigger and much worse unless it stops now, which it won’t.

Well this thread has gone silent. Just was doing my daily dose and came upon this. I have a strong distrust of war time propaganda, and yes this is a ‘left’ leaning news source which I personally admire for its accuracy, meaning I carry it in higher regard than most. Perhaps it’s just conjecture, but it makes sense…DE1EFEED-DD5A-42AD-96CF-D11194EDD270.png
