rope runner

I climbed with Jack when I was in the UK....he knows how to rip on that runner....really nice bloke...long descents in Oz did that...lol

Here in Barbados our tropical trees are not as tall....but are very dense and wide....using spurs in the canopy is no use for most...still a tree to tree decision...I use mine on spar work and trees with big straight leaders if that makes sense....I thinks spurs are a necessity for most removals at some point...no way am I using a 460 or bigger without good footing which nearly always means spurs....now that is my 2 cents...stubs are evil BTW...I almost never leave them...again sometimes one an come in handy

And I forgot to mention the dreaded casaurina trees...their shape does not allow for spikes generally....but I have used them for some...weird shapes with heavy leaning limbs and poor TIP's...double tie ins work better for positioning....wood is very hard and points don't penetrate on mature wood...but one would have to experience how they grow here...they get very big

They probably wouldn't feel that way if they just had some of these.

I tried to post some pics of the work we did in the Media section, but it says I've maxed out my limit of 50mb. Any suggestions, besides "Stop posting so many big pics?" :) If so shoot me a PM. Don't want to derail anymore.

I did Mike. My Aluminum guy wants $7.00 per blank, no radii. The Walnut guy wants $1.00 per blank, no radii. They both want 100 piece minimum order, and then they would still need the edges rolled over. What I don't think anybody wants is a pair of $50 cusions. What I'm thinking about is having the Walnut blanks cut and then just having the end user smooth the edges themselves, we all own files. What I'm not sure of is if I can mail them with an envelope and a stamp or if they are going to cost a few bucks to ship in an bubble pack. Of course the same could all be said about the Aluminum also but I think the Walnut might be the best option for the cost. Any thoughts? Anyone.
The shop here charges me around $3.00 to water jet 1/4" aluminum that size. I use a carbide router bit to round over

Pm me info, I will keep his info in my vendor file. I tried routing one of the wood ones by hand, way to dangerous for my liking. The aluminum one I have was setup in the mill but that adds time and money. I know my wood guy can fake 3d work by engraving it to create a 2.5d shape. It's time consuming and of course is actually a bunch of little steps instead of a smooth shape. Never tried it with aluminum but maybe an option also. Demand and cost are always the sticking points.
